So, Tuesday, the seat heating elements came in. I watched the other 2 videos about how different both front seats are, last night. I went to work for 3 hours this morning and decided to take off and come home and get these seats done!

Got home about 10am, starting working on the seats about 10:30, passenger side first. I almost didn't install the heaters..., first they didn't look like that were going to even fit, the secondly, I noticed you can cut them to a certain length. I then installed them in the passenger bottom seat, only to realize I forgot to put the protection tape over the cut.... ?‍♂ I then had to take the bottom part off the seat frame and fix it, but all in all, the passenger seat took about 2.5-3 hours, from removing from the truck to installing in the truck and prerunning the heater wiring under the carpet.

It's been cold and raining all day and during this whole ordeal, I got soaked, LOL! Enjoy the pics!

Drivers side took roughly 2 hours from removal to install. I honestly didn't think I was going to get both done today.

Again, I used zero steam on these. I guess I could rent one or just wait till the summer heat hits :D This weekend, it's supposed to be a little warmer, so I'll probably wire up the butt/back warmers! I've never owned anything in my life, with heated seats :O

Nice job Jason! I don't think I'd tackle taking the seats apart like that as I know I'd be driving around with just the foam afterwards.? I've been in plenty of vehicles with them but my Ranger is the first I've owned. I'll tell you what, I'll never buy another without them! Besides warming you up they're great for when your back is sore and aching. I use mine all the time here especially when getting out out work. It's like having a built in heating pad. ?

Yessir. Back problems make heated seats almost mandatory anymore.

I use them up to when it's 105 outside. After that nature heats them up naturally. :sun:?
Doesn't get to 105 very often here, but I use mine all the time.

Thanks Dave! I was a little nervous honestly, but once I watched those videos, I figured I'd be fine?

I was super nervous about the headrest guide plastic pieces and actually broke one on the rear seat... I didn't do it like the video guy suggested and I totally broke it, LOL! The front seats, however, I did exactly like he did and it worked exactly like his video did :)

My wife's super ancient CR-V has heater leather seats, but I rarely ride in her car, cause it's not an ideal ride for a 6'6" man to fit comfortably....

Jason, That's a lot of mods! It didn't seem like that much when you had it spread it out over 22 pages but that list. o_O

I don't know if I wouldn't add it all up. You might be in for a shocker yourself. lol ?

I always keep a record of what I've put into vehicles, even though it's a loss if I ever sell... :( But it looks awesome in person :) I have about $8k alone in the body kit, wheels, tires and suspension...

I do the same and keep a folder with all the receipts. It's just a shocker sometimes when you actually put it all down in front of you. lol But as long as the bills are paid and you're having fun that's all that really matters. Plus we all enjoy helping you (and others) spend your money. ?

I too, have my receipts in a folder. Just about everything I've added to it is paid for, with the exception of the new exhaust and Katzkins. I just wish the truck was paid off, but at least our house is paid off, LOL!

Earlier this afternoon when I got home, I decided to go ahead and wire my seat warmer switches. After I decided on where I wanted to put them, I drilled the holes and ran the wires and got it done so quickly, I just decided to splice into one of the 12v ports under the AC controls. Before I reinstalled everything, I did a 5-10 minute check on both seats to make sure everything was working as it should and it was :)

Somehow I managed to eyeball the switch holes to be somewhat in the same spot on each side?

High heat setting (Red light)

It took a few minutes before I felt any warmth on the lower part of the seat and maybe 10 minutes before I felt anything on the back. Might be because I had all my warm clothes on, as it was super cold in the garage, but I could definitely tell they were working

This morning the wife, I and one of our dogs, Hera went to Lowe's in the Ranger. I tried out the seat warmer again and within about 5 minutes, it was working greatly, so great, I had to turn it off, LOL! Hopefully my Redtek stuff will be here this week and I can install it and my Kicker speakers.

I wish I could get the A, B and C pillar covers and headliner switched to Black... Guess I'll figure out something later on....

Well, I'm slowly running out of things to do to my Ranger, but yesterday, it was somewhat warm and raining off and on, so I decided to install my new Kicker Speakers, REDtek Auto Down/Up Window module, a Kicker dash center speaker and my new Aluminum Engine Cover.

Took most of the day yesterday to do everything, started about 11am and finished close to 7pm... and I was so sore and screwed up my knee... It still hurts like hell today...

Anyway, let's start with the Kicker KS (part #47KSC6704) Door Speakers, Metra (part # 82-5605) Speaker Mounting Brackets and Metra (part #72-5602) Speaker Wiring Harnesses, all ordered from Crutchfield. Zero instructions on how to install these, so after some test fits, I decided to remove the 5 little "tabs" from the Mounting Brackets.
IMG_20230225_115802893.jpg

This is how the speaker fits with and without the "tabs"

Comparison between Kicker and OEM speakers.
IMG_20230225_115958579.jpg

IMG_20230225_120010655.jpg

Pic is drivers side front door. I made a little slit in the grommet, above the OEM speaker and ran the new speaker wires through the slit. I used some 1" exterior screws to hold the speaker into the mount, since there weren't any with the kit... I used the OEM screws to install the mounts to the door.
IMG_20230225_120829932.jpg

While I had the front door panel off, I installed the REDtek auto window module. I had to relocate the module, as it was hitting the door panel and it had to be mounted between the weather barrier and door panel. It works great, EXCEPT the windows do not roll back up after 1 full minute of being down or after you lock the doors... I have contacted REDtek about this issue...
IMG_20230225_123501782.jpg

I also installed a Kicker 3.5" (part #47KSC3504) Speaker for the center of the dash, since the XLT didn't have anything here. You can see the red/black wires I installed and started running them under the defroster panel.
IMG_20230225_154457254.jpg

Running new speaker wires along the defroster panel toward the passengers side.
IMG_20230225_154507808.jpg

Ran new speaker wires down/behind the glove box and secured them to an existing loom of wire.
IMG_20230225_162059249_HDR.jpg

I used some vampire taps in the passengers side door speaker wires (Yellow/Orange-Positive, Green/Brown-Negative).
IMG_20230225_155709822_HDR.jpg

Replaced the solid XLT dash center cover with the Lariat cover. This extra speaker makes a major difference!
IMG_20230225_162915013_HDR.jpg

Lastly, this was my OEM Lariat Engine Cover after I had to modify it to fit around my Dual Valve Catch Can piece on the valve cover.
IMG_20230225_181059397.jpg

Since the OEM cover has inflated into stupid prices $250+! I found an aftermarket cover and even though the company has shitty reviews, it was $30 off, with free shipping at $170. Customer service is awful and I had my doubts about it fitting correctly and it might, if my engine was stock still... Had to shave a good bit off it, in order for it to fit around the BOV/Hose. They also say it's powdercoated, but in my opinion, it looks like rattle can spray paint. I'll use some wrinkle black paint, when it gets nicer outside.
IMG_20230225_181025754_HDR.jpg

This is how it looks on a stock engine.

So...., come next week, my wife is going to inherit the Ranger from me, as we've bought a 2017 JK Rubicon, that will become my daily driver/weekend off-roader. More details on it next week, but here's a preview pic of it:
