I had been patiently (not) waiting for my Ranger order to be built and delivered. I was told 8 to 10 weeks was what it would take. As I sat waiting and the estimates kept getting longer and longer. 10 to 12 weeks, they said. 12 to 14 weeks, they said. Finally they said it Might be 18 weeks but made no promises. At the 9 week mark I drove over to another dealer and found the Exact truck that I had ordered sitting on the lot. It did not have the tow package but had the Technology package and it was just sitting there waiting for me to take it home. I was in hog heaven as I signed the papers and took it home. So on the 4th Rangerversary of that day, I took it out for a ride today and rolled up to 16,000 miles to celebrate my 2019, no delete, tow package installed, XLT 302A 4x4 Sport Ranger.

Wow! You don't drive it too much! Glad you are still happy with it. As you describe your ordering experience, I feel like car manufacturers like Ford that want to go to a "build to order" business will need to have more predictable delivery dates.

Yeah, and if you have to wait forever it sucks to be you. I bought Strider new off the lot in 2020 because aside from not having the tow package it was exactly what I wanted right down to the color. There were probably a dozen F-150s and a collection of other vehicles but my Ranger was the one and only other truck they had. This was at the biggest dealer in town.

I feel you, I just rolled over 17,000 miles on my 2019.

Luckily I can use it as a strictly recreational vehicle.
