All objects above 0ºK (-459ºF) radiate energy in the form of infrared waves. As the atoms are warmed, heat energy is propagated and move from the object in all directions. When energy hits a cooler object, the heat is absorbed and the energy is dissipated until it reaches equilibrium with the object. But why does heat radiate?
