Instructions to remove steering wheel trim.

I tried using a trim tool, but its not popping and I don't want to force it without verifying how it actually comes off. I have a suspicion I may need to remove some sort of backside fasteners, but don't know for sure.

Apparently its held in by screws that can only be accessed once you take off the steering wheel.

There is a YT vid regarding a shop swapping out the steering wheel on a Ranger. They installed an aftermarket, but used parts of the old one as well.

As in the trim section holding the buttons, on the wheel itself?

Although the way the airbag is removed is different, everything else I've seen (including above mentioned video), leads me to believe that the trim/button area of the wheel is similar, if not the same, as our (Oz) ones.

That means there's 4 torx screws holding it on from the back. Unfortunately, even if you undo these, you need to remove the airbag section as the trim sits in behind it (see pic) and you need to unplug the loom going to the wheel switches, which is also behind airbag.

JUST remember, if you mess with airbags, ALWAYS disconnect the battery. Just wanna throw that out there.
