I ordered some new LED tail light bulbs but can't figure out how to remove the old ones. I removed the housing and disconnected the wiring harness. This just gives access to the black plastic back. Removing the BLIS I could see a little but not enough to change the bulbs. I removed the 6 small screws, but couldn't separate the black back from the lens. What am I doing wrong? Is the only way to do this to replace the entire housing with the Anzo upgrade?

Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure the factory LED taillights are a sealed unit - there are not replaceable bulbs on them. The only ones with replaceable bulbs are the XL taillights which are more traditional bulbs, not LEDs.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I’m pretty sure the XLT LED assembly is non-serviceable.

Those bulbs would be for XL models only as an upgrade to their serviceable, halogen tailights.

Ah, two ships passing in the night.

Thanks so much for the info! By The Way I ordered the bulbs based on a post from the Auxito folks so looks like their information on replacement bulbs is not correct.

There’s an expression that comes to mind… “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing”.

Their post lacked important information. While they are touting the benefits of upgrading signals, they don’t offer enough information to help members understand which trim levels the bulbs work with and whether they are referring to front or rear signals. Either they don’t know or they just didn’t provide enough information to members.

Hopefully, they provide you with a quick refund and send you a prepaid return shipping label.

Thanks for all the inputs. I didn't expect LEDs in the rear and halogen bulbs up front. I'll check more closely next time.
