Not sure about error codes, but you probably would get a notice on the dash info screen about it not working.

Doesn't your insurance cover repair/replacement of broken parts in an accident? If so, then it seems like the best solution is to just replace with correct taillights, that way there would definitely be no errors or issues. And you can turn off BLIS if you really don't like it.
But if you really are set on getting non-BLIS taillights, then I'm sure you could disable the function and not see any error codes with Forscan.

Blis model tail lights are LED. Non BLIS are halogen bulb.
