I been looking at various wheel options and I want to maintain my trucks handling. How much can the scrub radius change before having an noticable adverse effect?
I can’t say for certain on a street car/truck but my guess is you could tolerate quite a bit and only notice it when moving really slowly and turning.
I raced Formula Fords (no power steering ) for a long time and had a few setups where we had as much as an inch or two scrub radius. In those setups it maybe hurt its pointing at turn in slightly. The other thing that was noticeable was when you were pushing it around the pits, it made it harder to turn when moving really slowly. All things being equal it is better to have as little as possible, but it was never something anyone I knew really paid much attention to.
I have 285/70 ridge grappler and this week I am going to Wildpeak 285/75 I have a 3.5 lift so I dont see any rub since I have some room to play with, I will let you all know if something goes sideways LOL
