I’ll basically be rebuilding mine every two years ?, Wife and I both drive a lot.
Roughly 90-100 miles daily…. Good thing for gas cards with cash back points programs am I right? ?

67K and I have no issues with the originals. But then again, I was told I drive like an old lady. And I'm driving 2wd.
i really only felt it when i had a load on AND was on the freeway, once in awhile it would bounce. it is amazing how bad they can get and still seem fine most of the time. I do notice how stiff the new ones are but the stock rears that were so worn out i could easily squeeze them All the way down felt fine 95% of the time.

Shocks are usually damped more on rebound that compression, so yes it will be easier to push them in, try pulling them open quickly. But having said that i replaced my rears at ~ 90,000 km because i found them too bouncy with 2,400 kg of caravan on. I used Monroe HD 4x4 shocks for a good result. Monroe makes OME's shocks for them in Australia and their own HD range are of similar quality but about 2/3 the price.

oooh i had a recent experience with this. had just over a cubic yard of mulch in the bed of my ranger. at about 60mph any kind of input on the steering wheel made the truck behave like a dirt bike at that speed. the slightest input and it was wiggle city.

Nice to hear the Eibachs are holding up well. I went with the Eibach pro truck or whatever they're called and they are doing great.

Regardless of shock brand most shocks are going to last about 50,000 mi and then need to be rebuilt or replaced. That's assuming you're staying on the street.

Fox actually states that for 50/50 on an off-road use to rebuild shocks every 10,000 mi.

And from what I've gathered that rebuild is around $80 to $100 per shock.

So I guess that means that they're not really a Buy Once Cry Once expensive accessory.

For someone who puts their vehicle through extremes, it may be very worth it.

It just doesn't make sense for my occasional weekend forestry service road,

I think Bilsteins have lifetime of vehicle warranty. I'm running 5100s. Had the same on my last truck. Put 160,000 miles on them and they were fine when I traded it in on the Ranger. It was used hard for 4 years running thousands of miles on Kansas Dirt roads and fields when I was lead guide and manager of a hunting lodge.

Thanks all I am going to do some research for sure.
So Bilstien, Eibach, Icon and Old Man Emu are the ones to look at?

Would you all spend the money and get a kit with UCA's ?
I would like to level the front 1 inch, just to make it "level"
Using Icon as a reference these are two type of kits I'm looking at:

Make sure you confirm which material knuckles you have. (Steel vs aluminum.)
My understanding is ALL Ranger Tremors have Steel (someone please correct me if I’m wrong about that.), some Rangers have Aluminum (depending on year.)(I bring this up because the link posted (stage 2) shows UCAs that are for aluminum knuckles only.. wanted to help save you the head ache of spending good money and having to return something because of a detail that might have slipped through the cracks.). the UCAs are picky. Then it’s do you want billet or tubular UCAs.
Personally I’d go with the kit that also provides the UCA. (If you have the $$ allocated for it and plan on getting them eventually.). Once you start lifting they do become required to a degree for ride quality/functional vehicle…
Again I’m also just learning the finer details myself. Smart people out there please chime in and correct me.. it’ll help not just one but two people right away ?.

I think they are steel?

My plan was to always put in a Ford Ranger Lift 1" lift, just to make it level. I was always to afraid to do it myself as I could never confirm the best way to do it.

I figure with one of these set ups I can get the 1" level. If I don't need the UCAs I'll skip them as I don't off road.

I will get the foxes rebuilt and keep or sell them. If I can get another 40-50,000 out of a brand new set that will put me near or just over 100,000 miles and I'd be selling it off anyway.

Sounds like a plan has come together. Stage one adjust to +1” tremor level, alignment, and drive ?. Once you get the fox done you basically have either piece of mind for next time or an opportunity to recover some of the expenses. Looking forward to see what company you go with. Happy hunting
