I remember reading that in middle age Europe the maximum work effort what a Lords of the Manor could task to serfs was 30%, and as Sundays were church days this comes to 24*6*0,3.. which is pretty much 43,2hours per week or 7 hours a day. Yeah, but at the start of the industrial revolution, it was common for people to work 80-90 hours per week. So, I can't understand why people complain about 40 hour work week, lazy I guess.

It's just part of the daily grind for everyone.

A long time ago I had a job where I worked four 10 hour days and had a 3 day weekend every weekend. It was great.

It all comes down to the premise that nobody on their death bed ever said "Gee, I wish I'd spent more time at the office..."

Except for Engineers. They seem to love being at the office.
