Hood Struts

I'm ok without hood struts on my XLT.....after owning 2 vehicles with hood struts and both failed at some point, and one incedent where the hood landed on my head......I'll be glad to have the old fashion, reliable hood prop anyday......lol

I noticed when replacing the headlights this past weekend, the prop rod doesn't open the hood "high" enough IMO. Anyone who went from Prop rod to Redline struts (or any struts for that matter) does it open the hood higher?

Yes it does, about 5 inches! Looking for a pic ...

My 19 came with free struts...

Mine too and a $10k below MSRP and a super low interest rate...but, there was no pizza box laying on top of the engine

I'm very happy with them and their installation was very easy. =)

Pop the latch and lift the hood 2 or 3 inches and then it opens by itself. I've never owned a vehicle with struts and, for some reason, I really wanted my Ranger to have them - seems like a truckie thing.

Show us some pics if you install them - or post about the price of egs! =D
