Thanks! That’s handy TLDR holes are normal but I should go get plugs
I would definitely plug them especially up there with your winters. Heck I pulled all the plugs out of my 2019 before they towed it to the auction yard. lol

I probably wouldn't have thought of that.

I wouldn't have either. I went through the Sticky I made of this list of deleted items and saw it. The guys at the body shop must have been shaking their head if they looked out the window and saw me prying them off. lol:bandit:

I never bothered to plug mine. Figure they allow for drainage and also give me an opening to spray in fluid film.

Seems to be they eliminated the plugs on all '21s. Wonder if it's to avoid moisture getting trapped in the rockers? Looking inside the holes the surface seems to be finished pretty well.
The holes are there so when they dip the body in the E-Coat, it ( E-Coat) can get into that area and get out to be heated and dried.

You mean take it to the dealer and actually expect them to step up and offer to "plug" your truck....for free ??? Get them to admit that Ford made a boo-boo by leaving them off ???
And, you just arrived here from what planet ???
Easier for me to just spend $12 bucks on Amazon and do it myself, knowing that it was done right.
(For info, the 25 pack of plugs is now $9.99 on Amazon)
But if they are unpluged for a reason and you make it worse , the cost will be on you., When I go the the dealer in September I will ask and get it in writing so if there there is an issue I will have documentation.

‘23 Tremor here. I was under mine taking off the running boards. I saw the holes and thought it was weird. I also have undercoating on the underside of the body but just outside the frame rails. IDK ?‍♂

But they came stock in 2019 and I think 2020 too. If they found there was a problem having them in they would've should've sent out a notice to have them removed. It looks like just another senseless cost cutting move on Fords part.
