HDMI video through Sync 3

I’ve been looking at this upgrade to my sync 3. Has anyone ever done something like this to other vehicles? Do they work pretty well? This one says it’s plug-n-play I hope someone has some history with this and can offer more details.

I totally wish I could justify something like this. I have an amateur radio with data capabilities installed and a tiny car PC with HDMI would be pretty awesome for remote camping and whatnot. I can receive text messages (APRS) and emails(with a PC) with it, and reading/writing them on the the tiny screen is a PITA.

Raspberry Pi + this + radio would be phenomenal!
