Along the same line maybe, does anyone carry without a round in the chamber? I had a buddy that did that, dumbest thing I ever heard. Apparently, there are people that do, for safety reasons. I don't comprehend it myself, at all.

Never! You might as well carry a brick if you're going to do that. ;) I get that's it can be a little "intimidating" at first but you really should get use to it or not carry at all. Proper training will teach you to never have your finger on the trigger. I've always recommended that if you're nervous to carry with one in the chamber than save up and get yourself a 1911. At least this way you have the additional grip safety while you're carrying cocked and locked.

I leave home defense tools magazine-loaded, nobody in the chamber, safety on.
That is my choice. It is arguable that having a flyer ready in the chamber is ideal. I just don't.
I do tend to prefer revolvers tools for home defense, anyway.

When I carry a tool for conceal carry, I have a flyer ready in the chamber, safety on.
I do not leave the tool in my vehicle unless it is kept in a vehicle safe or locked compartment.
If I do leave the tool in my vehicle, I unload it completely and keep the magazine elsewhere.

I'm gonna say that lo-cal kinda dictates one in the tube, but the 1911 comment is my guide

Un-loaded gun is a piss poor club.

Being in a socialist dictatorship, we can't carry "self defense weapons", and can't carry any handgun anywhere other than to the range/gunsmith, which it must travel unloaded, trigger locked, and in a locked case.

My truck gun is a non-restricted, semi-auto, box mag long gun like my Frankenstein Ruger PCC with a few mags close by. It's not perfect, or pretty, but the best of the options IMO. Shotguns are the most common truck guns up here, but I'm not a fan.

When I had my New Hampshire CC, and traveled to appropriate States, I carried Glocks chambered, no safety wanted or needed.

Even at home, guns have to be stored unloaded. The mags can be loaded sitting beside the gun in the safe, but the mag cannot be in the gun.

And of course we also have limited mag capacities. Handguns are 10, rifles are 5, so all my AR mags are pinned to 5. There's not much point having fifty 30 round mags loaded with 5 each, and even more so now that my AR is fully prohibited and can't leave the house at all.

I have magazines that have been topped off fully loaded for over 16 years. Rifle and handgun, single and double stack. Zero defects in all cases.

wait till Trudeau takes away all your pinned mags and makes you buy 5 round clips. I guess the risk is just too great that you will unpin them and go on a rampage.

When my Dad passed away in 2012, I rushed to the hospital to be with my Mom. During his emergency at home the police had arrived as is usual practice with a sudden death, and since my Brother and Mom neither held a PAL, the cop took all the guns and ammo with him.
At the hospital the cop asked me if i had my PAL, and if it was on me. I said yes and showed him.
He gleefully dumped all the guns off in the backseat of my F150 and told me to just cover them with a jacket or blanket.
He was glad to have not had to do all that paperwork for 12 guns.

Today, I bet that wouldn't be an option. I bet Trudeau has his fingers out trying to grab dead peoples guns and having them destroyed before they can change ownership.

He also told me three of the guns were loaded and off safety and not properly secured when he found them.
Trudeau is a useless, lying POS. He claims no one needs guns for self defense in Canada, yet is surrounded by armed guards 24/7.

He banned "military style weapons" even though the last shooting that happened with on in Canada was 30+ years ago.

rPAL holders by catagroy are one of the most law-abiding groups in Canada. LEO have a higher conviction rate than PAL holders.

Cops step on our rights and the law constantly. Even though no one had a PAL in that scenario the spouse is allowed to store those guns for a reasonable amount of time until facilitating the transfer or sales. It is great that they passed them to you, but doing it out of laziness instead of doing the right thing, still makes them scummy.

General note: I am not in anyway anti-cop, but when they cross the line, it gets to me. Worse is it's normaly at direction from above, not the actual LEO on the scene. The High River organized theft was disgusting.

A lot of "OEM" 1911 mags are Wilson Combat mags. Best mags out there! :like:
I have Wilsons and Cobra Mags. Cobra Mags have smoother follower and function great. Similar cost to Wilsons.

I don't think I've ever tried Cobra mags. I've always had good luck with either the factory mags or the Wilson Combat mags. I'll have to get some and try them.
