Do you have a console mount (or similar) holster for your ranger? What are you using? Primary carry is a GLock 43 or Glock 17

Coming from a law enforcement training background, I am NOT a fan of mounting carry pistols in a vehicle. I can anecdotally tell you that statistically (we took and then in turn trained our students on statistically based scenario training), if there is an immediate emergency need for a firearm in/around a vehicle (VCQB), if the gun is not on the person and they have to bail from the vehicle, the gun ends up staying with the vehicle.

On top of that, because of the close confines of vehicles and body positioning, handing firearms in vehicles results in a high self injury hit ratio when AD/ND events occur (i.e.: retrieving the gun from the vehicle mount and attempting to re-holster it, people shoot themselves, most commonly in the leg/thigh area).

In my previous line of work, the best practices suggested were:
1.) High quality, comfortable holster on your body, and...
2.) Safe training in the vehicle unholstering and bringing a gun to bear.

Thank you for the information. My thought was for lengthy travel versus leaving on body, but I see your point.

I looked around on Amazon and found several options for the Takedown. One of them may work for you.
Thank you again! You set me down the path that helped me find a bag that folks have been using for the take-down that are unbranded and one of them turned out to work very nicely for me.

This is another on my wish list.
Browning 1911-380. It is sweet looking, fits my hand well, 85% the size of a full 1911 and only 18oz. This is the plain jane as I would carry it SOB.

I just got a "chuckle switch" (Hoffman Super Safety) and just got back from wasting some 5.56. It's gonna take a little getting used to and figuring out exactly how to pull the trigger the right way. Definitely not a full on giggle switch, but it'll suffice for now.....still fun, but you can go through a bunch of ammo in no time. Just need one for my MAC-5 (9mm) which is much cheaper to shoot.

Someone just came out with an aluminum lower for the Kuna that takes AR fire control groups, including Super Safety, AND cz mags!
