I was just about to get into reloading when I was still living back east. I actually bought a Hornady Lock n Load press and a few other items like a scale and bullet puller then I decided to move out here so I sold everything. Ammo got reasonable again and not having a basement here really hinders where you can work on your hobbies because the garage is well over 120 in the summer and there's really not enough room for a nice set up.I have to use the center island when I do an AR build or work on my guns and when it's finally nice out here I can clean them out on my patio table so I don't stink up the house. lol
Where we are it gets hot as well (Palm Springs area). Probably not as hot as you though.
We live in a senior community. I put a 10'x14' Tuff Shed that is 100% dedicated to reloading and firearm stuff in the "back yard". Running a 10,000 btu A/C unit works pretty good. There is no way I could get away with it in the house. I am a competitive shooter and normally shoot hundreds of rounds per month.

Here's a good alternative to convert your AR 15 lower into a 9mm. You will need a dedicated 9mm upper but the Stern Defense magwell insert slides right into any standard AR 15 so you don't need a whole lower assembly. I have 3 - 9mm AR pistols and 1 - 9mm 16" rifle which take Glock mags but seeing as parts are crazy priced now this can save a few bucks in converting what you already have and just slapping the 9mm upper on your lower. The only thing you'll have to change out is a heavier buffer (not the spring) for the 9mm to cycle the bolt. They're around $25.00 or this one is great because it's adjustable for $46.00.

I am going to do a 9mm also. I like that product to be able to switch out the upper. Oh so many things to buy!!

I built an Angstadt Arms 9mm Carbine. It makes the "guns to take" list on every range trip. Such a fun gun to shoot as well as being very accurate. And great for the young'uns and folks new to shooting. I have it set up with an optic but it has flip up irons too.

My wife just told me no. ? No Rat Patrol cosplay for me.
Yeah,it's hard to justify paying $60K for self defense. But it would be a great deterrent for those rioters on the peak my roof. lol ?

Thanks, BDoc.
$21.09 now. I would have bought some at $16 even with having about 2500 rounds of 45. Things are going to get a lot worse ammo and gun wise.

I've bought in bulk a few times from below. They usually have inventory on 45 ammo. I'm looking for some more 380 from them.
I've never seen 124gr 9mm new on their site. Just 115 and it's pricey.
No issues with this ammo and like Sig Sauer ammo, it shiny and pretty.:)

I just bought a 250 round pack now.

That's nuts...it was literally $16/box when I posted that last night and now it's up to $29/box... :curse:

Yah, ammo prices and gun/ammo availability is getting stupid.
