I love my leather Relentless Tactical holster. I never had a kydex holster but heard so many good things about Alien Gear I decided to try one last summer. I haven't bought a new shell for my 1911's so I use the leather one for those and my Shield with the Alien Gear, they both save their purpose well.

A good gun belt is a must or even the best holster will sag and be uncomfortable. I have a Kore Essentials belt and this belt works great. It has a track sewn inside the belt ( like a zip tie) so you can fine tune it to fit and it's super stiff that when you take it off you can't roll it up it had to be hung because it stays rounded/conformed to your waist. I like the buckles as the have a release tab so when you sit down you just flip the tab and it releases a couple notches while still supporting your holster.
I peeked at the Relentless Tactical site and nice stuff at great prices too. Sale prices now.
Wright Leather Works is pricey but worse is the 6-8 week lead time but a quality holster.
I have Hank's gun belt from Amazon but with the Ulticlip, you don't really need a gun belt as it clips on your jeans, sweats etc. Utilclip does sell an XL clip that goes on a belt.

Sorry Doug :giggle:

If you're not in a hurry sign up for their emails and I'm sure they'll send you a 15% off when it gets closer to Valentines day. But here's a 10% off coupon code I had saved you can try using at checkout to help ease the pain if you want them sooner KORENEW10

I bought the tactical belt and there is no sag at all even when carrying a full size 1911. The only gripe (if you could even call it one) is that with my jean shorts the first and last belt loops are close together in the front so with the belt being so stiff you have to back the open side out a bit to be able to buckle it because they do not flex. I like how you cut them to size to custom fit them,I left mine a little longer just in case I gain a little weight. lol The track system is really nice because with standard belt you just have the pre made holes and it always seems you need that space between the 2 holes.

Those look like a good holster too. There are so many good smaller companies out there you don't need to spend $200 on a Milt Sparks VM2 (which is a really good holster) my Relentless holster is made with some real good quality leather and stitching and has a lifetime warranty for under half that price.
No Problem Dave:like:

I have a Comp-Tac, belt but it is too big now. It is reinforced and the traditional style with holes. Love it but with shipping was damn near $100. Been putting off getting another. This is the first one I have seen that has the ratchet adjustment. I wear a "click belt" when carrying with one of my paddle holsters. It is a great belt for adjustments and kept me from buying alot of belts while I was losing weight. Now I am at a more stable weight...it's time for a new belt! Found a decent stiff belt at Wal-Mart and wear it when carrying SOB. But really like the click adjustment and the tactical would probably be my every day belt. I can get 2 belts (and buy an extra buckle) for just a tad more than my Comp-Tac cost! And if the code works, that makes it even sweeter!:handsinair: The CFO will be pleased!

I ordered the magnets this morning. They will be here tomorrow  . I Love Amazon Prime!

Now to check out the Relentless holster.....like I really need another holster.

So my 1911 still isn't in. I guess UPS doesn't know what 2 day air means since it's been a week now (new ETA is tomorrow). Good news is one of my suppressors came in ( almost 11 months wait) and just in time as we're going out shooting tomorrow. Q El Camino in .22 titanium/stainless steel 4.3 oz and rated at 114db. Should be James Bond quiet with my Colt 1911 .22 :D

Very nice, I happen to enjoy Kimber as well.
I just can’t help putting a little more style to things.
If you haven’t tried a 6” 1911, you haven’t felt smooth.

Nice Kimber's! I have my first Kimber finally coming in tomorrow. I've always wanted one but shied away from them because they had a bad name for a while. Everything I've read lately has been nothing but positive I only wish they had a better warranty. When you're buying a top tier 1911 it should have a lifetime warranty but I'll try this one and see how it works out. 1911's are addictive! I had a lot more but sold a lot of them before I moved out here. Now I have the itch again so I already have my eye on a few more. ;)

Anyone have recommendations for a PDW pistol in 9mm? Gun show in my area this weekend.
Depend on what you're looking to spend? Do you want a regular holstered pistol or something like my CZ Scorpion or an AR9 pistol? I bought my Scorpion with the intent of using it for my main home defense weapon and I have a dedicated suppressor coming just for it. It's super accurate, small and easy to maneuver thought the house and doorways.

It's hard to recommend a pistol because everyone has different taste. I love my S&W Shield but I also carry my Springfield Armory EMP 9mm 1911. Some like Glocks, personally I don't like the way they feel in my hands. The Sig P365 is a really nice gun and probably another one I'll add, especially once I shoot it. If you have a range the rents them that's your best bet then you can try a few different ones and see what feels good to you. One thing I can say is that everyone who's shot my Scorpion has gone out and bought one. They're that much fun and accurate.

I've been to a lot of gun shows and really have never found any "great deals" on guns, mostly accessories. There are so many online vendors with much better prices and a lot have free shipping to your ffl. Once you find one you like go to this link here and in the upper right put in the the manufacturers part number and you'll see every online store that has it from lowest - highest price and their shipping rates. Also works for mags and other accessories.

Depends on what firearm you would be looking at, if you are looking at an AR-15 then I would highly consider 5.56 like @Msfitoy suggested as direct blowback 9mm in the AR platform tends to have more perceived recoil with less lethality. If you were willing to spend the extra coin and find a roller delayed system like in an MP5 for instance, then you would have an incredibly compact and soft shooting firearm. 300 blackout or 6.8 SPC is also something to consider as they tend to perform well out of shorter barrels.

Accidentally skimmed over this before writing my response, very accurate information as well.

Ya, should have specified, looking for an AR9. I came across the CZ Scorpion the other day, looks like good quality. My brother has a Quarter Circle that was fun to shoot too...

I have a Palmetto State Armory AR9 8" barrel with a Shockwave brace and Sig Romeo 5 red dot. I'll be changing out the brace as I don't like it and just had a spare in the safe to a SBA3 brace. It takes Glock mags so if you have a Glock 9mm you won't have to buy different mags for it. I have 30 rnd ETS mags and they've run great in all my AR9's. If you're ever going to get a suppressor for it down the road than make sure you get a 10.5" barrel. Almost every suppressor has a minimum barrel length of 10.5". There's a few that don't but the suppressors are expensive, close to $1000.00.

You can get a good PSA/AR9 build kit for around $600,they have sales all the time and they're really easy to put together with basic hand tools and watching YouTube. The uppers come all assembled and the lowers I can do in roughly 30-40 minutes. The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 7.7" is around $800 but once in a while you can find them online for $750 but they almost sell out as fast as they get them. PSA website is here (sign up for their email deals) and this is where I bought my Scorpion from and they're both very good to deal with.
