Vortex Defender CCW Enclosed arrived tonight and I installed it. There was blue loctite on the screws, so I used that. I have a tube of the thread locker recommended above, if that fails.

Now to hit the range.

They were hard to get hands on, but their claims to minimize zero shift with handguard pressure seem to be checking out so far. Shooting the black rifle in competition this weekend to 735 yards. So far, it hammers.

Longest I've ever shot is 200 yards(at a range). lol With AR's, longest distance just over 150 yards. Last weekend on a off-road roadtrip to Eastern Oregon, where you have lot more room to shoot. I have lot of places I like to shoot in woods kind of close to me, but they are densely wooded.

Longest I've ever shot is 200 yards(at a range). lol With AR's, longest distance just over 150 yards. Last weekend on a off-road roadtrip to Eastern Oregon, where you have lot more room to shoot. I have lot of places I like to shoot in woods kind of close to me, but they are densely wooded.

I’ve shot .223 pretty consistently past 700, .308 past 800, then 6ARC to 1000, and 6.5 creed to 1400 meters. It becomes a math game at a certain point.

The most fun, might have been shooting a 9mm competition pistol to 400 yards for fun. We’ve shot them to 200 in matches (8’ drop, hold a target left with 125gr at 1050fps)
