friends, I have a question about some numbers on glocks. I know at least two folks here are followers of Gaston's wonder pistol lol so, maybe they will know. Inside a glock tonight I noticed numbers i never noticed before. Not the serial numbers. one is on the barrel opposite of the ejection side. its small print looks kinda computer tech ish like 1980s font from tron. another one with the same font and small size is inside the slide near where one would see the firing pin on the ejection side. I thought hmmm. is this some sort of factory tracking number for parts or something... then looking again I noted the two numbers had the same number of digits but not the same numbers. so what is it im seeing folks? is this part of all that microstamping freedom stealing poop? notice a couple things that resemble qr codes as well but they are not qr. they are dot matrix style almost. My eyes are not as good as they used to be but im pretty sure ive never noticed these other numbers or markings on other older glocks. Someone fill me in, Thanks in advance. if it helps this was inside one of the new-ish baby glocks, single stack magazine, no pistol leash hole, a gen 4 i think.
Just looked at my gen 2 Glock 23 and those numbers are not there.

Some of the part numbers are for tracking batches. Some of the numbers are part numbers. The futuristic stuff is for tracking parts within the manufacturing process, I believe.

copy & paste the link in a new window, worked for me.

it is a TV news station (ABC 13 Houston) reporting on the Glock switch & how a policeman was killed with one.

for those that live in a free ish state, do you ever keep a long gun in the truck?? i dont but ive been debating it. on my days off im normally in the middle of no place alone and would like a bit of extra protection just in case dirt bags came along or even an angry critter. some of the hogs we have in texas are pretty mean and get big. not to mention i cant out run them lol.

I have a Kel Tec sub 200. It's a 9mm that folds in half an fits in a laptop bag. It uses 33 round glock magazines. While not a high power round, the longish barrow gives it more velocity. I think it's more of a toy than a serious weapon it could be useful.

ive seen those and always thought they were cool! they are hard to find sometimes. I was thinking of using a shotgun, noting fancy just a pump 20 or 12. something with some spread for snakes etc. but still use for defense if needed.
