As a result, Ford pivoted its EV plans, but it's not giving up. The company's focus is on a new universal electric vehicle (UEV) platform built from the ground up with a "skunkworks" team in California. The first product will be a midsize EV pickup costing around $30,000, targeting profitability from the start.

Your left rear tire passes you on the interstate. This is reassuring.

In my opinion, it's the worst of both worlds.I still fell that Hybrids are the way to go right now and are really the best of both worlds.
In my opinion, it's the worst of both worlds. You get the maintenance requirements of an ICE, along with the battery concerns of a BEV. I do understand that for the majority of people, especially those who travel a lot, the hybrid is a better option.
We have both and it works perfect for us. The wife has a Model Y and I have the Ranger. The Y is our daily and the Ranger is used mainly for towing. I don't believe the technology is even close to having a BEV as a dedicated tow vehicle. It may come at some point, but maybe not in my lifetime. The only people I could see benefiting from a BEV truck is those who just use them for weekend runs to the home improvement stores.
