VERY specific but when I turn left, uphill and accelerate at the same time there's a loud grinding sound coming from the front driver side. I've taken it to the dealer a couple time and they keep saying nothing is happening and they can't replicate it. I notice it most when I first leave my house because it's uphill from out of my driveway. Doesn't happen every time but maybe once a week.

Anyone else heard any sort of grinding from the front end?

how hard are you accelerating?

traction control?
Just for clarity, the ABS pump actuates for Traction Control events, and it can sound a little "mechanical" and is right in front of the steering wheel under the hood. If the sound is consistently the same little BZZZZZZT then it's probably that. Test this by attempting to exit your driveway in a "spirited" manner and see if you hear the noise, then exit like you are driving Ms. Daisy and see if it goes away.

Also check for the presence of a flashing yellow icon in the dash with a skidding truck.

Raising a thread from the dead but I've gotten the same thing a few time on a very specific left turn out of my driveway. Never happened in any other situation. This morning it sounded particularly loud and sounded like it was coming from the steering column which worries me...

Go slower or turn off traction control. Been there done that.

Makes sense, in this case I was late for work and really gunned it. Probably need to be a little more controlled on the corners. ?

Definitely the nanny pulsing the ABS.
When I first heard it I was mortified, and since have learned to accelerate more gradually out of turns. It can be incredibly frustrating when pulling out into fast approaching traffic from a drive that has any grade to it at all.
Seems to activate more aggressively if the vehicle happens to be even a degree off level when accelerating.

This has been haunting me for years! Yeah it’s like a weird grinding disengaged sound where you lose acceleration when entering a street from say a parking lot. Thanks for the suggestion to turn off traction control. Seems obvious but even a thirty year Ford dealer mechanic didn’t know what to do.
