I installed mine myself as well. Just set them on my little wheeled shop stool and adjusted it to the proper height. Very simple.

Have any pics of your DSS's?
Random question..Did you have any issues with the nut-plate fitting in the step? The opening feels just a little bit too small to accommodate the plates.

Not at all. I just had to angle it just right and it slid in.

After fumbling around with it for a while, I tried the other plates and it was just 2 of them that wouldnt fit. Close enough of a fit that my mallet helped get them in though.

For anyone else installing, a few notes – I had to use a tap to clean my nut-plates. The spray cover of the plates was all over the threads. Made install way easier. I also loosely fit everything to the running boards first, then attached to the vehicle and tightened everything up. The sliding nut-plates are frustrating while trying to install solo.

I will be modding my DSS soon, but only going to bring them out another 1/2” using some 1/2” flat bar drilled to match the original brackets.
Your Ranger has really come along, looks great! Have you done the mod to the DSS's to bring them out a bit? If so, have any close ups of it?

Thanks! Funny you mentioned this today as I just came in from the garage where I was working on it. I would have had them done but I broke my tap off in the last hole. I’ll hopefully have them done this weekend. I’m moving them out 5/8”.

@Mmmmmnachos they are done and installed. It’s hard to take before and after photos from the same angle so I tried to do a left vs. right comparison after I had one side finished. I’m very happy with how it turned out, I think this is how they should have come out of the box.

Anyone else worried about the lack of powdercoat on the insides (where the rails mount)? I emailed GoRhino and they said they should be zinc coated. I sprayed some undercoating in there as best I could.

The inside of mine are covered in surface rust. I guess that’s what the 5 year corrosion warranty is for!

Has anyone taken the top plates off yet?. looks like the bars have to be removed to access the screws inside the frame of the step bar.

This doesn't fill me with overwhelming confidence regarding long term durability. Doesn't seem like it would've been too hard to powder coat from the factory.....

GoRhino stands behind their warranty though so i wouldn't worry too much, one of my top plates had defective finish upon unboxing and i was just expecting a new top plate. instead they sent me a new set of bars.

Any chance you could make another set of these add on brackets to sell. I added these boards as well but that extra little bump out makes a huge difference. I am new to this group but am not one of the scammers that is being warned about on the main page. I just want to add a little bit of extra foot room for stepping in.

If there were more hours in a day I’d gladly make a bunch of these but sadly I seem to have zero free time as it is to even get my own projects done... sorry!

No worries, thanks for the response. Do you happen to have any drawings or dimensions of the final product that you can share?
