Hope this is the right section. This might have been discussed before, but my searches only came up with where the funnel is located....and transmission funnels  lol.

Not necessarily an "off-road" topic, but I figure those that do a lot of off roading would be more inclined to have better answers.

I recently used the "emergency funnel" to add some BG 44k before my last fill up. While I was carefully adding it to the truck, I was thinking how frustrating it must be using this to add fuel to the truck. Are there other options for adding fuel without having to use that dinky little funnel? I assume the reason for these little funnels is because most fuel can nozzles are too big?

The funnel is need to get past flaps in the fuel tube.

You almost need a manual to add gas to your truck nowadays. Way too complicated in my mind.

My 2005 Ranger, Insert funnel to keep from spilling on truck body,
My 2020 Ranger, Insert specialized funnel just to get contents to flow into the tank...

I guess you can tell I prefer a gas cap to a gas flap.

I have 2, 5 gallon plastic gas "cans". They came with a came with complex, fancy, PITA nozzles, ("Safe-Flo" ) designed to prevent spills. They increased spills for me when filling the tank with them. I managed to cut some of the complexities off, and used JB Weld to defeate the others so I can stick the nozzle down the fuel intake, past the flappy thingy and fill my tank without spilling, as much.

I have one of those cans for my mower, I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT NOZZLE!! lol. It's such a PITA to push that little red thing down and hold it while pouring. As soon as I use all the gas that's in it, it's going in the trash

You can order replacement spouts and vents on Amazon. Worth the $15.
