I just took our 2020 Escape Hybrid in for a recall to reflash the ECM.

I see Forest River on the list, last fall I bought a Forest River trailer trailer, worst calamity was last time I used it I flushed the black tank and by mistake left the valve open so when I went to drain the tank prior to winterization at the Colorado welcome center a gross river of poo came out before I could get the hose connected, a gent behind me waiting to use the dump station politely asked "1st time RVer? "
but other than that no recalls, just a defective owner.

Recalls aren't an absolute measure.

Some makers do more voluntary recalls than others. And recalls are also dependent on units sold, as in if two million units are sold versus 20,000, then it's more likely that the larger sample size yields more instances of more issues.

I'm not defending Ford, just stating it's not as simple as looking at one set of numbers.

I think for should be replacing the bad transmissions an the 2.3's with extreme fuel in the oil but most of the recalls are software updates. The loose lug nuts while dangerous isn't a big deal just tighten them yourself. My buddy bought his wife a 100K grand wagoneer an the electronic stuff doesn't work sometimes an there's been a few other recalls.

My understanding is only safety recalls HAVE to be published. My brother says Toyoda doesn't announce non safety recalls. They send owners a "free oil change" letter an do the minor recalls while it's there an the owner never knows. He heard it from former toyota plant workers that now work for Ford. Who knows for sure.

I've owned a Forest River cargo trailer since 2015. I've put thousands of miles on it with zero problems, other than a burned out marker light and some popped rivets in the outer skin. It's certainly held up better than the ATC trailer it replaced, which was literally falling apart, with the frame rusted to hell, after 10 years.

I wanted a Tacoma but they can't be flat towed behind the motorhome.
I wanted another one. My first went 18 yrs 90k mi and other than tires, shocks, brakes and fluids never one problem.
Only problem is at 6’ 3” I didn’t and don’t fit in one (and a Tundra is too big). My Ford, my first ever Ford, I have little confidence in. Top build 2022 Ford LARIAT / TREMOR.

You know the shame for Ford is they had things perfectly set up to price ladder me into an F-150. I have a Ranger and love it, but I just don’t love the transmission.

As my hobbies in life have changed, I need to grow into a full size. So I would have gone F150, but I just decided I don’t like the transmission and am looking at new and used tundras.

Ah well. I still like the trucks Ford puts out. If I do end up with a tundra I’m not forever committed to the brand. I’ll just be judicious about an F150 in the future. I’m rooting for them and hope they get a better transmission in the future.
