I am about to buy a bed rack for my 2021 near poverty spec Ford Ranger XL 4x2 Super Cab. I have narrowed it down to Overland Cali Raised and XTR1 Bed Rack. Does anyone have any experience with the two that can help me decide between the two?

I like the looks of that Overland Cali Raised. Especially that it's offered in a low profile. Would be perfect for my needs.

Hey Flocky,

I don’t have experience with either and maybe no one with the experience will see your post but it’s the interwebs and everyone has an opinion, including me. ?

I like the look as well as the utility of both and that they each offer different profile heights. The XTR1 is tonneau cover compatible but the Cali Raised doesn’t appear to be - I didn’t see anything on their site about it either so you might want to check with them on that. I would also check with XTRUSION OVRLND about which tonneaus their’s works with.

Even if you don’t have a tonneau cover now, you might find you want one later for security or simply to keep things clean and dry - it can’t be very much fun cleaning out the back of a truck with a bed rack on. especially if it has a low profile. ?

I also think the versatility of the XTR1’s large centre bore (running wires, as a holding tank, or pressurize for a shower, etc.) was interesting. It might never be utilized but I thought it was cool.

The research phase can sometimes be the best (or worst) part of a project like this. In the end, I hope you find the best solution that meets all your needs and budget.

Good luck. Oh yeah, pics when you’re done! ?

You should first check out Max-Modular: https://www.max-modular.com/ford-ranger-years-2019-to-present

They have a great assortment of bed racks for the Ranger in various height options and they are compatible with tonneau covers. I had one on my old Tacoma and it was rock solid. They also have have great customers service and were very responsive when I reached out with questions. I also like how their stuff is Made in the U.S.A.

Looks like they are offering free shipping right now through Labor Day.
