I'm sure glad I didn't have to pay for this app, it is only worth what I paid for it. I have it on my fairly new iphone. After starting the app it takes about 1 minute to start. Once it starts it a crap-shoot as to whether it will give you the button to start the vehicle. I would say it's not there 30% of the time.

Even if you're lucky enough to get the start button you have to hold it down for about 20 seconds for a 30% chance that it will come back and say "Unable to start vehicle".

Looking back the remote start should have been added, my bad.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

Over the past week or so I’ve noticed it takes a little bit longer to “start” the app, and then a few more seconds before the start/lock/unlock buttons to appear but it’s not enough for me to consider it useless by any stretch. It still works for me.

The time “lag” for it to actually start after I press the start button is reasonable considering it has to go from my phone connection (either home wifi or cell/datasignal) to the Ford server and then to the truck. It’s no more than about 10 seconds. I can live with that and think this is a great feature.

What kind of phone do you have? I have an iPhone with the latest iOS and it runs just fine. It even works on my Apple Watch without issue. It's not the greatest app ever created, but it does its job I've found.

I wonder if I should reinstall this app. Never did this when new. Today I wanted to see how long it would take for the start button to come up so I just left the phone on a table. Thirty minutes later I checked and the button still wasn't there.

I'm running android and while I agree the app start is pretty slow, I've never not had the start button appear and only had rare occasions when it didn't start - a second attempt has always worked.

Uninstalling and reinstalling seems like a reasonable thing to do. Sometimes the data associated with an app gets corrupted and causes all sorts of issues.

Ummmm, I haven't installed the app as I don't have my truck yet. But, it sounds like the same people that did the Chevrolet app did the Fordpass app.

Offering FordPass for free let’s them off the hook for poor functionality and reliability. If they were still charging a subscription fee, they would have to put more effort into it. Paying customers would have standing to demand better quality.

The app is crap and the reliability is atrocious. I'd say it works about 50% of the time to start my truck. I live in Alaska and it was -30 this morning. App didn't work. I have to go outside and start it with the key and lock it with the spare key while it warms up.

I've had good luck with it except for when the battery level on the truck went low due to sitting for 6 weeks. It took 5-6 days of driving before the app repopulated the lock/unlock and start features. Other than that, the app does open slow but once up, no issues.

iPhone 7, IOS 14.1. FordPass app opens and is ready for business within 8 seconds. Remote Start takes about 10 seconds to start the vehicle, after holding the Start button in the app for 3 seconds. So far, so good.

It’s hit or miss for me. Works fine sometimes, and other times it’s useless and won’t start the truck at all. It’s the app, not the phone.

iPhone 10. Been working well for me. I hold the button for about 3-4 seconds to either start, lock or unlock. Can take 10 seconds to boot up sometimes which isn’t a big deal for me and I have noticed the start/lock buttons were not there once.

Mines been a bit more reliable but I installed an aftermarket remote start so I could start it with the fob if need be, I just don't trust that the app will always work.
