Good questions, hopefully someone with knowledge can chime in. Don't be afraid to ask questions ever(even though some might bash you for it but their loss to help someone and your gain to knowledge), but you did a pretty good search since I don't recall of seeing any big threads about these topics. I am sort of a ranger5g forum bum :asshat:

i know. ford preset the height. what i was asking was if it was common that people received them set at the incorrect heights.

Were those people installinging these and seeing more than 2" increase in ride height on 4x4 platforms? You will see at least a 2.5 increase with these installed if on a 2wd model truck.

see thats what im curious about- if they were 2wd then it makes sense. pretty sure they were 4wd, thats why it stuck out to me.

I've only heard about the standard Fox 2.0 ( not the ford performance ) being shipped not adjusted to the correct setting.

If you order the Ford ones just post up when you get them and take a pic and measurement of the thread area remaining at the bottom of the coilover and I'm sure there will be several folks quickly confirm your measurement with theirs.

Can't help ya with the salt thing, one of the few good things about California is they don't use car melting chemicals on our roads in the winter.
