Ford NAV vs Google Maps

I have an Android and I like using Android Auto but the roads on Google Maps just seem very dim to me not defined like they are on the Ford NAV system.

Anybody else see this difference or is it just my crusty old eyes?

I wish there was a setting to map the roads pop just a but more.

If money wasnt an object for me I would have gotten the Factory Navigation upgrade but money is kind of an object right now. Also unfortunately Android Auto has its issues.

Like what issues ? I have no problems with AA itself in fact, it is a bit better. WIth the Ford Sync 3.3 and 3.4 Pandora will always need to be running on the phone before you connect, at least on mine. WIth AA it can fire up Pandora every time, no problem. With AA I just don't like how Goggle maps is displayed. Very dim, not like Ford NAV.

I have had times with android auto running where I could not do thing like answer or hang up the phone. There have been some cases where it did not want to load the maps.

What do you mean by dim? It sounds like the system is running in night mode during the day.

I really liked the blue night theme in my car, but locking it to night in the settings menu made maps always display in night mode too.

Not running night mode.

Ford NAV maps are big and bright.

Google maps are small and the road are dim.
