Beautiful looking Jeep Jim! I would just keep that and tell Ford to pound sand. But I know it's easier said than done when you have your heart set on getting a Bronco. It's the principal though.
Trust me brother, it's getting easier every day. If Ford doesn't respond in some way to this fiasco after all of the ruckus, I'll probably drive it till the wheels come off.

It's a significant amount of smog and greenhouse gasses. No catalytic converters, no fuel injection, mostly mechanical ignition & carbs.

"Lawn mowers and leaf blowers are exceptional polluters. Their small engines spew outsize amounts of smog-forming NOx, cancer-causing volatile organic compounds, and lung-damaging particulate matter. Operating a gasoline-powered leaf blower for one hour produces as much volatile organic compounds and NOx as driving a 2017 Toyota Camry from New York City to Orlando, Florida
[...]
California is littered with gasoline-powered lawn equipment and generators, totaling more than 16.7 million statewide. For comparison, there are about 35 million cars, trucks, and semis registered in the state. The small engines create as much smog-causing pollution in California as light-duty passenger cars"

I agree about the battery life, but I've been using corded for years to take advantage of high torque, lightweight electric motors that can do a lot with 10-13 amps that don't run out in 20-30 minutes.

It's also just so much easier, especially with the way ethanol gasoline blends destroy small engine fuel systems. I'm sure engine shops were probably loving THAT. The two shops I know & talk to aren't worried about the ban, they read the writing on the wall and started shifting stock to battery & corded years ago, as did manufacturers.

I am a little concerned lawmakers didn't fully consider the problem when they included certain devices though. A corded electric or battery powered generator isn't as much use as they assume when PG&E decides to shut off power for a few days. I guess that should boost F-150 Lightning sales, though!
I'm a bit older than some here, and I don't think I remember any time a politicain thought anything out to a logical conclusion. Probably never will. I have been transitioning over to battery powered lawn equipment as my old stuff wears out. It's so much cleaner, quieter, and easier to use. No fuss, no pulling cords till your arm falls off, and oh, did I mention easier. :)

Dave, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, but I do have flashes of intelligence ever so often. I just remembered, if you do test drive a Jeep makes sure the dealer has the air pressure in the tires set properly (mine has 42-43 in the tires). I've found with my 255/70R18's 35-37 is the best. If the air pressure is to high it will wander all over the road because the pitman arm steering has a small amount of play. If the pressure is to high in the tires it will be an adventure to keep it straight, because it will be riding on the crown of the tires. Ask me how I know......lol
Thanks for the heads up Jim I doubt I would've thought of that and it could've soured me right off the bat. That must of been a fun ride. lol

I did glance at the JL wrangler forum last night and there was a couple threads on members buying the Rubicon with the new Extreme 35" package. It looks like (from my limited reading) that it's somewhat new so good for Jeep for countering Fords SAS package.

I also saw that some were contacting a a couple dealers who in the past were offering 7-8% under invoice. I'll have to read more into this but at 8% under invoice it would bring me to almost the exact price of my Bronco and I might have to entertain this if I like it after the test drive.

Have ya'll not been paying attention to Anything that has been happening lately? I know we are all spoiled rotten these days and want instant gratification and instant accurate answers to every question but come on. Wow, what a new insight that hasn't been posted repeatedly! You tell those snowflakes! Also, you seem to miss the point that the problem people are having isn't that ford is having trouble delivering, the problem is that ford isn't delivering in the order they said they would. Most people would be understanding if ford just said it was going to take a while to deliver order number 321 because of supply issues--but they're pissed that ford isn't even going to try to deliver order number 321 because they decided to deliver to other people instead (after they said they'd deliver preorders in roughly the order they were placed, before dealer stock). I mean, if you want to just take whatever a company feels like delivering after they lie to you, I guess that's your choice.

Thank you for your extremely original post..

I wasn't making anything political, but if we're going there, I will coin the proper phrase for this situation. "FORD LIED, ORDERS DIED"

Maybe the financing arm has something to do with it, but it appears that a lot depends on what other vehicles the dealership is ordering. It sounds like if the dealership wants additional Broncos or Mach-E’s over the base allocation, they had better be agreeing to orders for additional Ecosports, Escapes, Explorer’s, etc.
I'm sure those dealers are ordering those vehicles per market demand. This also goes against what Farley just said July 31st, which was "we don't want large amounts of dealer inventory and look forward to moving to a customer order model and only providing dealers with smaller inventory so we don't have to create incentives to move stock". It can't be both ways. The only leverage large dealers have is profit and since they all pay the same for the vehicle from Ford, the only way Ford makes more from one dealer to the next on a per car basis is through customer financing vehicles through Ford. The higher the sell price, the more that's made on interest.

A short relevant story about brand loyalty...

I have long been known as a dyed in the wool loyal Ford guy....
I went to work one morning to find a close friend showing off a brand new Tattoo on his shoulder.
It proudly said "Harley Davidson" and looked something like this...
1634151324182.png

I kinda laughed at him and asked how he could do such a thing and what would he do if he ever decided that his loyalty was misplaced and he bought a BMW or Honda.
He replied... "Well you're always wearing that FORD hat. What's the difference?"
I replied, "If I ever decide on a different brand I can simply do this!"
I then removed the hat and tossed it across the table.

I have often been told at breakfast that the chicken which supplied the eggs was loyal, but the pig which supplied the bacon was COMMITTED!

I just sat down at the Jeep dealership and ordered my Gladiator. Coming from only manual transmissions, I'm really excited about having 3 pedals again. Guys are saying they're getting their jeep anywhere from 6 weeks later to 12 weeks later so it's a bit of a crap shoot at the moment.
