Definitely not my cup of tea. If I wanted a truck with the looks of the F150 Raptor, then I'd go buy a F150 Raptor.

A lot of us like the Raptor look but dislike the Raptor price!

Yea and some Mustang guys would put Shelby Cobra Badging on their V6's because they want the look not the price tag.
I never understood why some people are bothered by others that do that kind of thing. You seem bothered by that since you brought it up, why is that? Not your car/truck, why do you care enough to notice?

You are absolutely correct. I'm not buying it so at the end of the day I'm not losing any sleep if someone else does.

This is a public forum conducting open public discussion. I have an opinion on the matter. If you don't like it, tough shit? Believe it or not, I don't just go up to random people on the street to give them an unsolicited opinion. Neon green shoes are ugly as shit, but I don't go out of my way to question someone wearing them.

I hope you realize the great irony in your response to me.

Just curious, what department do you work for? You seem all chippy and shit. I'd say you are a deputy of a podunk county where you take about 5 calls a day and say you're busy and you're a "veteran" with around 10 or so years in the department.

I had to wrangle some cows the other day.

(you are going to have to do better than that to get a rise out of me)

I'm not trying to get a rise. How close was I? I've been a city cop for 21 years. Started in a podunk city for 2.5 years, then moved on to a top 10 largest city about 19 years ago.

I work for a city PD currently. We run about as many calls as the entire county in a year.

Some days I can watch midget porn documentaries for 12 hours on Netflix and the next day I'm running code non-stop.

Perpetually short-staffed, I pulled 1100 hours of overtime last year.

Got calls? We take about 1800 calls per day as a department. About 15-25 calls per Officer per day. Short staffed? Our city council cut our budget by 150 Million this past summer, so many people quit or retired and positions aren't being filled with new cadets. No new cadet classes for at least 18 months. We're supposed to have 11 Officers on my shift for 44 square miles of our sector. We have an average of 7 per day. OT? That budget was part of the 150M cut. Code? They don't deserve me driving fast, risking my own ass, to get to them since there the ones who voted for the morons that cut our budget! I don't run code unless it's an Officer Needs Assistance! 4 more years and I'll be one of the "retired" guys.

I can unequivocally say I do not work for a major metropolitan department like you.

I'm actually looking to move to the county SO in the future, but that is more of my unhealthy disdain for our city administrators and city council. This is the only municipality department I have ever worked for and will be the last.

Every agency has drama, but I'm done with non-police paper pushers ham-stringing us.

And ironically your bothered about what bothers him. I'm with him as I'm not fond of people misrepresenting things kinda what's called fraud. Would think any LEO would but guess not.

Not bothered by him at all. Have heard people say things and never really asked anyone why. Was genuinely curious, that’s all.

the downside to working for an SO vs City, at least in Texas, is that a deputy is basically an at will employee. Can be fired or lose their job with a simple change of the sheriff. Where is the majority of city departments have protection from civil service and even a contract with the city like our department. Not to mention the retirement isn’t as good. Those are the main reasons a lot choose a city agency over a county here.
