Figuring out my bed storage

I’ve been trying to decide what to do with my bed to have the most dry storage and be able to haul kayaks, surfboards, etc. The most dry storage I’ll need would probably be for a few camping backpacks, some storage for random tools, and my air compressor. I’ve seen some tonneau adapter kits that would give me plenty of dry storage and be able to put a rack on but the reviews weren’t the best. I have also looked at getting a bed rack and a weather proof box to bolt down in my bed. I’d say my budget is around $1,000 any recommendations/advice would be great thank you!

I pack for a specific job. There is no one size fits all.
For me, nothing works, bed is just to small, and i do too many different uses, hunting, camping, mechanics, trash, just too small a bed.

Yeah the 5ft isn’t much especially if i were to put a box in. I’ll definitely reach out after I make a decision.?

I know this is over the $1k budget…but I’ve used a ReTrax bed cover with a Yakima Haulover system attached to the ReTrax. Not 100% water/dustproof but I really like the versatility of hauling a box, kayaks, rod holders, etc on top. And having the bed contents pretty lockable secure.

Keep your eyes open for a used Decked system. Great amount of storage, waterproof, can add tie downs to the deck. Its a great all around system.

I have this hard cover for the bed and it works well. It would give you solid closure and weather protection and allow for a rack install for the kayaks and etc…..
