Brings back memories of being stationed @ Langley AFB in Virginia. House we rented had a yard filled with beautiful trees. Colors were brilliant. The first time I spent 4 hours raking "brilliant" colors I was like "oh hell no"....lol. Seriously though, It was a pretty place to live and I do miss the season changes. Still in the upper eighties here.

Love the Porkies, been backpacking there several times. Also have done the Superior Trail just north of your location. I live in Escanaba by the way.

Here's a few from a cruise through the valley today. Not quite at the peak of color.
5 points if you can name the vehicle I was driving.

That's why I don't waste time raking them. haha They blow around plenty on their own. I'll sometimes run it all over with the mower to mulch it up, but not always.

Couple more recent ones. Did some camping and hiking in Southern Minnesota this past weekend. Colors were kind of weird, all over the place, and slightly disappointing. A mix of dark reds, browns, pale yellows, and greens. Nothing all that spectacular. But there were some small pockets of good colors.

Here is a few more taken over the weekend in the western UP of MI. These were taken at Courtney Lake NFS campground in the western upper peninsula. Can anyone tell me what made the scratchs on the hood of our truck?? (yes, a trick question)

Since we don't get fall foliage in the desert, here's some from Utah up near Torquerville Reservoir.
