If you have any questions let me know. I've used it a lot. I'd show some of my saved tracks but they show work locations that include private properties.

Try Waze. Updates get pushed almost daily with a day or two delay. Sometimes there is a week that updates don't push for some reason. But normally no more than a few days out of date from when an editor last saved updates.

You can see the status here: Waze Status As of right now the last update was Feb 8th 2023 at 11:21 and updated the map to the saved data from editors as of Feb 7th at 20:00. (times in UTC)
When Waze first came out the promise of real time traffic updates and police traffic enforcement was a big attraction. I gave it a try and found it very disappointing. People kept shouting it's benefits and I kept giving it a try and it never got better. I finally deleted it off my phone. Even though I live in an area with approx. 2 million people in a 40 miles radius you might occasionally see a few folks on the high way using Waze. There is just nothing current showing anytime I have used it and it never shows issues that are real that I encounter. It may be useful in areas where people actually use it and report issues but not where I live.

The Sirus XM Travel Link that come with the Ford factory nav has always been better and more current with traffic congestion, road construction than Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps.

The fact that Waze is updating their database every day has no real significance. I just don't care that a new road went in or a new store opened in a town/city 1000 miles from where I live. As I mentioned earlier in this thread the three new streets that went in over the past 5 years took over approximately 1.5 years to show up in Google Maps. In the case of the road near my son's house I was checking Waze too, the road showed up at the same time.

When ever I travel the rental cars generally don't have factory nav so I will use AA if the rental supports it or just Google Maps on the phone. My wife's new Jeep didn't have factory nav so she uses CarPlay with Google Maps or Apple Maps. AA and CarPlay are perfectly acceptable but I will take the integrated factory nav over either when I have the option.

I used to Google maps to show traffic congestion on the way to work. It was accurate enough to know to take another route or not. For the most past, google maps has not led me astray.

I'm currently having issues getting Google maps to display on the truck. I'll create another thread after I look into it more so I'm not side tracking this thread.
I'm with ya man I have tried it several times and sometimes it works and then just flakes out. UGH

And it's the best at automatically re-routing around heavy traffic...also better than a radar detector...
It is better than a radar detector. But not fool proof…. Got this while using Waze. Failure to wear seatbelt. I was in the righthand lane cruising with traffic. Good thing he was a mustang fan. The officer actually asked me to rev the engine for him.

Did you get a ticket for excessive noise? ? Kiddin...bummer about the ticket...but not wearing your belt in 2023?! Sounds like you're old enough to remember, "seat belt tickets would only be issued as a secondary violation"...yea right...

I was going to start a new thread to descibe my google maps issue to not derail this thread. But the thread derailed all on it's own anyway.

In order to help others that might see this issue.
So here was my problem. Suddenly Google Maps stopped working from my Samsung A52 to android auto. My Samsung S8 worked fine. I downloaded Waze in the mean time. The solution I found was actually simple. Go into device care on phone then make sure Google Maps is not set to go into deep sleep after use. After doing that, I was able to drive and switch back & forth between the two with no issues.

I never mark Police unless they are out of their car roadside already. If they are there monitoring for speeders, I consider that interfering with an investigation.

I never mark police on waze. they move around, anyway. but it's one of those driver distraction things that I just don't mess with.
