Not true Gregg, utilizing the AXZD pricing program does not preclude the dealer to charge for such non-sense as shown on the document you presented, of course taxes and any other government fees you must pay for regardless.
Instead, the language of the plan states that such fees must be listed on the AXZD pricing agreement.
The one and only additional dealer fee I agreed to was $100 for documentation services, the X-Plan contract caps this fee at $100.
Good thing you caught this, they almost bilked you for $500

Quoting from the AXZ program site:

"The dealership may charge any price negotiated (at or above dealer cost) between the dealer and the customer for undercoating, dealer installed options, extended service contracts and other items or services that add value to the vehicle, provided such items are priced separately and listed individually on the retail buyer's order and the AXZD-Plan Pricing Agreement. "

Here's my copy of the pricing agreement:

It really wasn't a matter of catching this. I have purchased many vehicles from him in the past and sent him many other A and X plan customers. We have never paid those fees. However I am sure many non AXZ customers have paid these.

I agree that a customer and the dealer may negotiate for items that " add value " to the vehicle. That language is in the part of the plan rules that you quoted. Dealer service, delivery and sales persons commissions do not add value and are not allowed. After 31 years years as an AXZ plan participant and even going through one audit (which I passed with no problem) I am pretty familiar with the rules. I am not looking for an argument. Just want to be accurate.

Now I remember - When I logged onto the XPlan site, it allowed me to login to the Ford site and when I built my truck it displayed XPlan prices, not the MSRP prices. I think it was pretty accurate - I can't guarantee it was 100% but it was very close.
Well. all I can say is the the X-Plan route is the way to go for a decent price and to avoid (in my situation) the haggling, which I abhor.
Still can't get over that dealer wanting to charge $75 for nitrogen filled tires though...

I agree 100%. on both counts. :) I hope you are well. And BTW while I like living in Kentucky, waking up in paradise every day must be pretty awesome.

I agree on both counts. Although you can still get good deals without XPlan - we got our C-Max for a little bit less than XPlan and there was no haggling or anything - I agree though - I hate the haggling.

We bought a Saturn years ago - they were the first car company to be straight shooters during the buying process. The price was the price. I kept expecting to get surprised (read-screwed) but they gave us an honest, good deal for our trade in. They treated us like human beings and were very honest and upfront. We bought a second Saturn because the first experience was so good. The second wasn't quite as good, but still a good experience. When we were ready to trade again, they didn't really have what we wanted, so we ended up buying an Explorer. I always thought Saturn had a great idea with the way they sold cars. I wish more dealers did what Saturn used to do.

Indeed, it is Paradise, but it comes at a dear price...
But, it is home and most definitely where my heart is...
Yes, I am well and absolutely love being retired, matter of fact, my new Ranger is my retirement gift to myself.
Wishing you and your family all the best... :like:

That's always been the beauty for me, and my whole family, being Z-plan people. We get regularly anywhere between 10-20% off our Fords. I got 10% off my Ranger, my dad got all the way up to 20% off his F-150 a few years ago. No need to haggle. Really just skips the whole stupid back and forth garbage that is such a waste of everyone's time. So thankful for that.

Here is what our dealer gave us when we placed the order in October for our 2020 using X plan.

Living in Hawaii does not come without a penalty, as we are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
We've just 3 Ford dealers here on Oahu, all of them are acutely aware of this and will not bargain at all with certain models, especially those new to the market.
One dealer quoted me a price that was eight thousand dollars above MSRP last June on a '19 S/Crew 4x4, their stance was that it was new to the market and would command the price they dictated.
This really dashed my hopes in owning a new Ranger, as I assumed the other 2 dealers would have the same attitude.
Then I joined this forum last August and posted my situation, within an hour other members suggested using Ford's X-Plan, a program I never knew existed. Subsequently, I ferverlishy researched the programs particulars and decided this was absolutely the best route to go because I specifically wanted a S/Cab and that it would need to be special ordered.
Ford had released the '20 MY Ranger specs sometime on August 15, I believe, I went through this list and "built" my '20 Lariat.
On August 20, I met with a salesperson at another dealership, gave him the specs on I wanted and asked him to order it after placing a deposit.
The rest is history, I took delivery of my '20 on Jan. 18, there were no rude surprises in the OTD price whatsoever.
The X-Plan was truly a Godsend for me, I cannot endorse it more than I already have, especially others in Hawaii or those faced with a similar situation.
To those members who suggested the X-Plan, I send a great big MAHALO!

You keep saying for everyone to do X-plan, but it's not like you can just go in and say "give me X-plan pricing" and they'll do it. Usually it comes as a perk from being a member of some group or organization, so it's not open to just everyone. At least as I understand it. I currently get Z-plan pricing because of my grandfather, who retired from Ford many years ago. But once he passes, so does the Z-plan discount. But I can get X-plan after that because I am a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and Ford is a big sponsor for them. So how did you get the X-plan pricing, out of curiosity?

Tell me sir, when did I EVER state this in ANY of my posts regarding the subject?

I encourage you to peruse ALL my posts and to find just one statement I made to justify your accusation.

As for you request, that is absolutely NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

I apologize if I offended you. I didn't intend any malice in my questioning. Nor did I intend to insinuate that you were making false claims of any sort. I was just merely curious. I have never used X-plan, so I was just wondering if I misunderstood the process for getting and using it.

Again, my apologies.

Apology accepted, however you need to be careful in how you word your statements Matt.

I joined the Mustang Club of America to reap the benefits of Ford's X-Plan, however there is a time limitation insofar as being member of this club before becoming eligible to use the plan. Membership to this club is a paltry $20.

Check it out here:
