Noticed a check engine light for a third time.
First indicator, was fueling while running, dealer reset.
Second indicator, KAM system ( keep alive memory) per dealer. They deleted history and reset indicator.
Third indicator, at the dealer now.
The truck only has 500 miles!

I was checking all computer systems I have access to. I found the my driver assist feature was not working. I turned the system on and off. I tried multiple system configurations without successful return to working service.

I recently had the dealer put a Ford factory tow hitch on the truck. There were a couple issues with installation but I thought they resolved the issues.

I am now at another dealer because of very unpleasant customer service at originating dealer.
I have engaged with Ford Corp and have CAS reference numbers to reflect the issues.

I should have kept my minivan.

It sounds like the original dealer royally messed things up for you. Now that you're working with a different dealer seeing they can fix the mess the first one caused before giving up. It sucks to have to go through this because of an incompetent dealer but once you get it fixed right you will be happy with your Ranger. It's a great truck, it's just your dealer is a moron! Good Luck!!!

wait till you actually drive the truck more. get vibrations, noises and what not.
you'll really hate it then.
Can’t read if you’re super sarcastic or serious.
I’ll assume your serious.
I understand cars make noises and are machines. I understand they rattle and squeak over time. Typically that relates to other underlying issues that can be address with investigation.
The issues I am running into are very detailed computer based that require professionals. I just bought new and only has 500 miles.
I am part of the cure not the cause.
thanks again.

im not convinced you have very detailed computer issues requiring a professional (I assume you mean computer programmer?)

im thinking more like a spate of bad luck coupled to a bad service department.
if you're patient, and dont buy back your minivan in a fit of buyers remorse rage, you'll probably come to love this truck and be glad you got rid of the van.
So, I am at home with another dealer loaner. I am okay with the current situation. Ford Corp is in communication with me and showing positive feedback. Ford is also communicating with the dealership as well. It’s way past getting the van back.
Just a small wish to get out of dealing with
issues.
I have logged all communications from start to finish and am sharing with everyone so everyone is on the same page.
The service manager today was very professional and Explained the process now. The dealership I’m working with now is making exceptions to their buyer policy for me, since I didn’t purchase there. They are trying to show good effort by Ford and their helpful customer service.
the parking sensor issue is clarified and fixed, but the check engine light is in limbo. The Ford diagnosis system nation wide is down for routine IT maintenance.
They gave me a truck and are working on things.
I will keep updates coming. The sensor issue was explained that it was technician error.

I bet if roles were reversed he’d be at the front of the line saying how he was wronged by everyone else.
I can get past this person. The behavior he shows is why there is a greater systemic problem.

When you say “driver assist” do you mean the lane-keeping system? And if yes, what do you mean by it stopped working? How do you know?

Not sure if you’re aware but there is a “toggle” off/on button at the end of your turn signal lever that can be pressed in/out to turn on/off the lane assist feature. Maybe you pressed it unknowingly and turned it off?

Can the lane keeping assist alert be audible ? Or only the steering wheel shaking ?
It can be set to just Alert or Alert + Assist. I don't believe there is an audible Alert though.
This cam all be set along with the intensity of the Alert with the menus on your instrument display.

Yes. Drivers assist is what I call the lane assist action. I noticed while trouble shooting the check engine light and possible causes I “rabbit holed” into checking every system.
I noticed while toggling thru the trucks computer system, the driver assist was set to on and to assist and alert.
I didn’t know there was a toggle on the end of the turn signal.
Currently the dealer has run tests on the sensors and assured me the lane assist is back up and running.
As far as the check engine light, Fords diagnostic system nationally was down.

It has three options. Audible, vibrate and both. All three would show being set on the system.
During driving the indicator on the instrument panel was not showing the small vehicle with lines. The truck normally has a small vehicle diagram with lane lines that change depending on vehicles position.

Where is Audible in the menus ?
So to be clear. Without my truck sitting front of me, I can’t recite the option selections I chose to find the menu I’m speaking of.
As far as exact wording for audible, it may have read like this...
•vibrate
•alert
•vibrate + alert.
I don’t know if I understand the question exactly, but want to help.

" the instrument panel was not showing the small vehicle with lines "

so if the toggle switch is on, the dash has all the alerts turned on, and the camera is working, then the only option not discussed is whether there are actual lines on the road that the camera is picking up.
When I noticed the feature not working the entire diagram was gone.
I was highly tuned to any feature not working due to the other issues I’m having. I don’t want to take the truck in for a simple operating error.
I tried multiple roads and lanes with new markings and old markings. The entire system was offline for some reason.
I am not worried at this time. I have established new service at a new dealership. They are taking care of my consumer needs and said they wouldn’t call until they resolve the issue.

I believe the options are:
-vibrate
-assist
-vibrate + assist
No audible

After a bit of research and comparing the NA and AU suspensions and tests I identified the cause of the vibration issue and found a simple solution to it that should resolve it. Take a look if you have not done so already, it may just work for you as well.
