Not sure if it’s just me, but every time I see a post from a person saying they have some major big problem and how they have “contacted the BBB“ etc. etc. the person is unable to type English words?

I figured it out. Follow me on this....
The Salesman evaluates the buyer and the buyers family, he tells
the Service Manager, who tells
the Technician
who adjusts the truck prior to delivery to buyer.

Buy two tires that are one inch larger in diameter, slap em on the left side of your truck....problem solved !!!

All,

Forgive me but I'm going to add to the craziness and tell you all that mine does something similar but only from time to time. Allow me to explain:

When I am driving into a parking spot (forward or reverse), and there is a weight shift to force the driver's side down (right turn going forward / left turn backing up), the truck will definitely exhibit the "left side lean" that most have come to know. It will stay in that position after being parked despite my best efforts to correct it (rocking on it or bouncing on it). If, however, I give it enough straight travel time to correct itself--it will do just that--correct itself and become level. It will not do this when the weight shift is in the other direction.

Once in a "blue moon" it may exhibit a left side lean, even if I didn't initiate a weight shift but it is rare.

Appears to have the added shim on the left side leaf spring. Other than that, all other suspension is stock (for the moment).

What is the consensus/thoughts on this?

I had the “Ranger lean” just like most of you. The factory added an extra rear leaf spring block/spacer to one side like many of you, but it was still over an inch lower on one side.

Ultimately, I added Eibach front coilovers and adjusted the preload to eliminate almost all the lean. It still sits 1/4” lower on the driver’s side, but it’s no longer visually noticeable.

Here’s the best part: you can adjust the preload while the truck is on the ground (you have to turn the wheel for access). This made it super easy to eliminate the lean AND the truck rides better AND it’s lifted.

The other day I noticed my truck was leaning a little to the driver's side. A little later in the day, I opened the tailgate and realized I had left 4 5 gal buckets of spent 45 ACP brass in my bed (on the drivers side) I had retrieved from a storage locker for a friend. After we transferred the brass to his truck, I closed the tailgate and looked and it seemed to still have a slight lean to the drivers side.

I have since driven the truck a number of times and just went out to measure. It is exactly the same side to side, I mean exactly. I think a little jostling allowed the suspension to resettle from normal stiction that held it in its slight lean until I drove it again.

So mines level, for now... :)

Chuck,
I have the same concern as you which is legitimate. My truck sits about 3/4" higher on the right side. I took it to the Dealer to document it and after checking it underneath said that nothing appeared to be a mechanical or safety issue. My Dealer said that a few other Ranger owners had reported this same issue to them, so they went out on the lot and measured some of the Rangers that were in stock at the time...some were level, and several were not. No service bulletins on this issue. I also documented a case with Ford (not a complaint against Ford) just in case it turns out eventually to be a warranty issue. I feel OK about letting it go for now (the appearance doesn't bother me) unless Ford discovers it to be a mechanical or safety issue in the future :)

My truck only has 600 miles on it and it will be something to keep taking a look at once the springs have some time on them.
Mine is close to that mileage wise. Stiction in the suspension can move around with some components loosening up over time, while others become more stiff and all affect where it settles after each upset. Hence my comment about it being level "for now". :)

Thanks for the Help I will call my Ford Dealer and reference your Smart Ass Reply. It thought this was a forum for Ranger owners not smart asses but I was incorect!
Glad I could help. :like:
It might also be a gravity problem where you live...the earth's gravity pull might be a bit stronger on the drivers side where you park. Only way to check it out would be to back in at the same spot to see if the lean is offset, or if the passenger side is sucked lower by the stronger gravity.
You may be parked over a "black hole"

mine is about a 1/2 off ... i wonder if packing as much weight as possible on the right side and just driving it like that a while would even things up ?

Ranger drivers are not supposed to be smartasses ? I'm in the wrong group.
Maybe I just bought the wrong truck for my personality , hmmm

Seriously ,back in the day I owned a automotive custom shop for 20 years and I've been seeing the same thing since at least the early 90's S-10 pickups . Some do some don't . Some cars have the issue as well .

I just took mine into the dealership today for this same issue. Right side of the truck bed is higher than the left rear side. The Front looks even. No issues with the appearance of the front, but the back is off by a good inch and half. I never noticed it when I bought it and I haven't towed with it yet or hauled a heavy load. It's got 15k miles on it. I do have a full take of gas in it now so the mechanic can't possibly say he doesn't notice it. If they want to shim the driver's side, I'm ok with that. Just get the bed level.

My buddy helped me lift my suburban and she sat a touch out of level. Drove me nuts. He’s been wrenching for decades longer than I have and he said you won’t ever sit perfect. It’s impossible.
