The RPMs flare up between 100-300 On downshift in Sport mode along with the acceleration noise. Every time between 20-30mph. It feels like someone taps the gas but my foot will be on the brake pedal. It jumps forward too just like tapping the gas.

The dealer replaced the transmission so it has around 600 miles so far. It did the same thing on the old transmission.

Is this normal? Anything i should inspect/diagnose?

Have you change out the DPFE sensor? It could be part of the problem.

I haven't. I just ordered the $20 sensor only; I was planning to change it and clean the throttle body.

Mine does that too. 2023 Lariat Tremor. I know our Explorer ST does it, far more aggressively than that, almost like rev matching in a manual. Does it when you're in the mountains driving hard and going into corners.

TC looseness maybe. Factory TC typically has a lot of play. Eliminating the clutch drop sensation. Mine does it too. 91k with 16k on transmission.
