Thank you so much for your informative post. The code popped up while driving home from work, about 65mph, in tow/haul mode, with 1200 lbs in the bed. Went to AutoZone to get it scanned and i presume they cleared the code because the CEL was no longer illuminated after that. When running through the engineer test pages, it only shows a historical code not related to this. It hasnt come back but i still plan on changing the t-stat regardless.

Another question, i currently have the pink (?) coolant, i will probably switch to the yellow. Should i flush and/or clean the cooling system before this switch ?

Again, Thank You for your wealth of information.
@RangerBill posted this and it's a good reference for coolant compatibility.

I just popped the P0128 code this morning and noticed on my OBD2 reader the ECT was staying around 165 170ish.

Potentially thermostat stuck open like a few of you.

Does anyone have a diagram for replacing or a view the housing?

Thanks

The shop manual says to remove the intake manifold first.

you do not have to remove the intake manifold, but you may need to remove the throttle body as the revised manuals call out - the intake is no longer required to be removed.

It all about how ambidextrous your hands are for access to anything earlier versions of the manual are not tweaked for some access points and have you remove items that are not actually required

I haven't had a chance to dig into it but that was my hope.

Will give it a shot once I get the thermostat in hand.
