DIY Pro power onboard - Advice needed

I'm looking for some advice from all you electrical wizards out there...

I want to set my truck up with a large battery with a high output (4000w) to be able to run saws or other equipment similar to how pro power onboard works. I would like to be able to charge the battery while I'm driving, so that its always ready for use when needed. I ordered a Ranger 6G with the 400W bed inverter, but
it still will not meet the demands of certain power tools that I use. I have a large generator (10KW) that I would much rather not lug around for quick jobs.

I realize that just buying an F-150 with Powerboost is the easiest option but I'd rather not drop that sort of cash on a work truck.

Have any of you built anything similar to what I'm describing? I wouldn't mind having a battery bank sitting in my bed either.

Your best bet is probably one of the comercial battery backup units such as bluetti or jackery that can charge from a 12v source. Supplement with a small inverter generator for charging. If it's for more commercial use, Milwaukee and some of the other tool makers are putting out battery backup units as well which are probably more durable and meant to run construction tools. All will cost $$$ and take up space in the truck unfortunately.
Something like a 4000w inverter generator may be cheaper and take up less space vs battery.

I don't have experience with vehicles, but have done a similar 12 volt installation in my travel trailer. 4000w is significant. No way you're getting 4,000 watts off of the stock truck battery, or alternator.

You'd have a smaller footprint just buying a 4000 watt inverter generator, and keeping it in the back of the truck.

If you really want it to be battery powered, a DIY solution with 200+ AH of lithium batteries and a 4,000w invertor will work. You can run a DC-DC charger to charge off the truck alternator. This solution will be $1.5k minimum, realistically more.

If you want a second battery I believe you'd need a dc to dc charger and an inverter for ac power. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

Yeah, an Ecoflow Delta Pro (3600W) is $2.7K. (on sale now) All self contained and can charge via 12V. Something similar is probably your best option. Lots of Youtube videos out there comparing the various models available.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. It's expensive but all I would need to do is run 12V power to the bed so it can be charged while the truck is running (not sure how fast it would charge though). Its expensive but it would offer a lot of capability.

Gotcha. It looks like the #1 circuit for the tremor switches has a 25amp fuse. Might not be worth the extra hassle for 5 more amps.

Yeah, make sure the unit you buy has a programable 12v input so you can set a current limit.

Looks like I wont be DIYing this issue, I do appreciate the comments fellas. I found a deal nearby and I dont think I can pass it up.
