Discolored Seats

Gents,

I had a spill on my passenger seat and even though I've used some off the shelf apholstery cleaner it still comes out with these white shadows.

The first time I was under the interior warranty and the dealer said their vendor ended up using a dye to get the color back.

Does anybody know a good product, either a cleaner or dye, that will work on this? I'm ok with using a dye, just want to make sure I'm using the right one.

Looks like it has residue from either the spill or the cleaners you’ve used. Have you used a wet vac to clean it? If not, I would try that first.

Yes. And as soon as the temp go up a little I'm going to try some other cleaners. I also tried a hand steamer. That's when most of the white residue appeared.

Back in the 90's, I bought a 73 Mustang with no interior or drivetrain as a project car. I found all the interior pieces I needed in black, white and blue. Hit them all with Duplicolor spray dye in black. 3 years later when I sold it, I had to touch up the arm rest and center console cover. YMMV

Did you use distilled water? My humidifier covers the house in white dust if I use tap water.

Since 04 or so all cloth seats in fords stain easily
