With the money youd save not going tremor you could literally do a complete suspension job and have money left over, fx4 you could do a suspension job but the savings would only cover the parts not the install. If it were me in your situation I'd go full aftermarket and save the money. Rear shocks do make a big difference and are perfect for most ppl but as you said its your last truck if youre gonna go for it may as well go big and get the smoothest riding and most composed and pleasant truck you can, and that will mean doing an overhaul.
Overhaul what exactly?? The complete suspension?? I don't know about that,,,

So you are allowing me too get the standard 4x4 and change the rear shocks if needed?? T

Yes,, but I want a 4x4,,,
You're at the time of your life you should be enjoying yourself at every possible moment.
If you want a Lariat Tremor, and can afford one, you should get one. Seems everyone that has one loves the ride, especially as relates to what you want to do with your truck..for now. Later on you may have need for 4WD and if so you'll have it. If not, it's not going to hurt you to have it and rarely use it.
We've all got a lot of opinions about what we like and don't like, need and don't need. But sometimes it's nice to have something you don't really need, but like anyway.
I am sure that whatever you choose in the end will be an awesome truck and you'll enjoy it quite a bit. For all their shortcomings both real and perceived, these are excellent trucks to have.

Let us know how it all plays out for you so we can help you start buying stuff you didn't know you needed ;)

Yup. Because you're no pro either, yet you think your opinion matters more. You have no data but "Dave" data and people are supposed to just take it verbatum? No. Do better Dave.
My experience isn't worth the sh*t tickets its printed on either so don't even try the bait and switch kettle crap.
Difference is I can accept that my opinion isn't yours and I can go through my day without being butthurt. Nor do I need my cronies to jump on board and gang up on you.
Wait...you have cronies?
I want some...where can I get cronies????
Are they expensive?
Are they better than the stock cronies?

How I interpret your reply. Pretty sure most of us see it that way too. No we’re not Dave’s army of thugs. We’re just average everyday guys that can spot a BS artist living as far away as Canada.

I'm ordering a new 2023 as soon as possible and want a 4x4. How much difference is there between the two? Does one ''ride'' better? This will be just a grocery-getter, no ''off-roading'' for me. I'd like to have the best ride available, with the 4x4 power,, if needed. Thanks for looking at this,,,
I thought there was only the FX4 and the Sport 4X4. With the FX4 you got a bash plate and better suspention and can opt for the locker. I opted for the Sport 4X4 it has the GPS and adaptive cruise. The GPS has been a pain in the arse, I kind of wish I would have went with the FX4 instead. I know you an get these in different packages but at the time the only trucks the dealer had was these two and I had to choose. Mine is also just a grocery-getter and I don't like the GPS or the adaptive cruise.

My truck did not come with adaptive cruise and so far I'm happy with the standard cruise. Use a Garmin GPS and really like it...no subscription fees or data use charges. Have my phone with a mount for a backup GPS in case the Garmin ever has a problem.

you can turn off the acc if you don't like it with the steering wheel controls its in the drivers assist section also yeah the sync gps is hot garbage, but I always use waze with apple carplay anyway, its free constantly updating shows traffic cops hazards cant recommend it enough, only thing is if you are using it just with your phone it sucks up your battery like no tomorrow but on carplay its a non issue and will still charge quickly from the cord even using waze

Have you tried using carplay and waze or apple maps? super seamless and you don't have the garmin blocking your windshield, also able to use siri to talk to it and tell it where to go. The apps are also free, constantly updating and have live traffic show speed traps and other hazards as well as account for closures and stuff like that. Did I mention they are free? lol

Also the fx4 comes with a locker it is an option on the sport, sport has full skids as well (engine fuel and t case) but the front one is a bit slimmer whereas the fx4 has no gap where the air dam would be and is wider but the t case and fuel tank ones are identical

Never said I was a pro but at least I'm comparing the Fx4 to my Ranger and not an F150. If you want to talk about your years of experience with an F150 I suggest you head over to that forum where they might care. I had over 12 of them myself all with the Fx4 but I see no point in bringing it up because it's irrelevant.

Your problem is you hate when someone disagrees with you and you have to go after them to try and prove a point. Yet you can't because you have NO off road time on your Ranger and I and many here do. Have you ever read one post where someone changed theirs out and didn't like it? No, everyone said they wished they had done it sooner. Like I said earlier IF the Fx4 was so great then why are there so many changing it out? I was one of them who "thought" it was fine and I have several posts dating back 2-3 years stating that. But once I changed to the Eibach it's a night and day difference and you can't accept that it's a fact.

Cronies, lol So someone who disagrees with you are my cronies now. ? How about others have the same opinion as mine and you just don't like it

Which is why I say go for a Lariat Tremor.

Best ride from the factory. Gives you the 4x4 you want plus all the other goodies. No need to modify anything. Add a couple of personal accessories (steps, tonneau, whatever) and drive the hell out of her.

Yeah do a suspension kit if you want to ball out but if you don't wanna do that I would definitely just go 4x4 and shocks
