Hi all,
This is my first time getting a vehicle detailed and wanted to double check the price with the forum. The price is just for exterior only, buff, clay bar and a ceramic coating. She said since my truck is black, it cost more. ? Grand total $480, is this a fair price, seems kind of high to me. ?

I saw something similar for $150 round these here parts. Big chunk of cash to lay down just for a fancy wash

Edit to add that didn't include the paint protection part.

So many factors here hard to say. What ceramic coating are they using. Who is doing it and how long does it take them.

In all honesty doing one of our trucks complete from clay bar to buffing to ceramic coat is the better part of a day to do properly. Some shops would charge $900 or more. But like most things, you get what you pay for to a degree. The shortcuts are in the details

Out here if it was a good clay job and good Ceramic then you would be closer to a Grand. So less than $500 sounds awesome. But all depends on how good of a job they do.

Wow, I had no idea that it could that high! The warden said "HELL NO, go wash it yourself", so I did.

As soon as you mentioned the Mrs. this image comes to mind after mentioning a 1K detail and ceramic coat job. See honey doesn’t it look beautiful, just like you! ?

It actually seems too low for a true ceramic coating, at least in my parts. Around me it would be at least double that.

I wonder if they are just using a nano spray on and wipe off and calling it ceramic. Your vehicle won't be available for an entire day for a normal ceramic coating.

I would be curious to know exactly what they are doing and what they are using. Is their buff a polish? If so is it 1 or 2 stage? What is their paint protection? An actual ceramic coating or a "spray ceramic"? Extra cost because it's black seems odd. I would probably look for a true detailer rather than a carwash that does detailing.
