Hi Dave,

When you own as many clocks as I do...over 200 not counting appliances and clock radios etc... The time change becomes a real burden. In Michigan, I only kept about 35 clocks running and still it was a pain but also a labor of love....

An argument I hear for keeping DST that it keeps 'the kids' more or less in daylight while they walk to/wait for the school bus in the morning all year, instead of just the summer. Pretty good idea, especially in rural areas. If I had a kid I know it'd make me feel better.
Thats the same STUPID comment I hear all the time So why not start school at 9 like a lot of the businesses in the world & then its light for them.

Beats me. Youre right though.. seems like right in the middle of rush hour would be the best time to have a bunch of school busses clogging up traffic ?‍♀

Sarcasm BTW.

Funny because the last thing we want out here is another hour of sunlight in the summer. Before June 21st (longest day) it doesn't get dark here until around 8:45 pm which is enough for me. When it's 110+ I'd rather it get darker earlier but it is what it is.

Changing the clocks never effected me when I was back east like some say it does to them. For me now, it's a pain making phone calls to friends & family with a 3 hour difference. At 6:00 pm here we're eating dinner so by the time I'm done they're either in, or getting ready for bed.
Yes getting dark earlier in warm climate is good. Here it's dark by 6 pm. Then it's perfect like 75

The pisser of this whole thing (IMO) is exactly that "they just keep doing nothing about it"
I dont know anyone who wants this but they continue to do nothing.

The daylight doesnt change at all, if 1% wants to run with it then change "your life" to accommodate the change.

It seems so many people have to look at the clock for everything.
changing every year X2 is just stupid (again IMO)

LEAVE THE TIME THE F*&k alone please

rant over
Amen!!! "The daylight doesnt change at all, if 1% wants to run with it then change "your life" to accommodate the change." That's been my thoughts for years. Leave it as Standard time, and for anyone that prefers 'extra daylight', let them change their habits to deal with it. Don't make everyone else change just because of the few.

Consider families with fixed schedules and adding spring or fall outside sports. Many of those programs would not exist with school schedules and so forth. To make what you wish want to work... All schools would start an hour earlier ... All work schedules would start an hour earlier ... Sometimes it may be easier for you to adjust than society. I do not disagree after my son's have grown...but having coached kids sports and ending games early for daylight there are safety issues come into play. There are two sides and both have consequences... To me it's whatever.

TOTALLY Agree, but with a little twist. Keep it standard, SDT or split it in half. Just pick something & LEAVE IT THERE.

As you said
if 1% wants to run with it then change "your life" to accommodate the change."

So glad we're normal here and don't have to do this. I don't miss doing this at all!

Bad news you're going to have to do it again come November. The bill never passed and will have to be reintroduced this year.

https://www.abc10.com/article/news/...heck/536-9965beaf-e73d-4239-ab09-c221dc3d4e6e
My guess is the bill failed to be passed because they couldn't agree on how much more money to send to Ukraine.
My point? A bill is never the name they give it and contains much pork fat that they hide from us. Like the Inflation Reduction Act that does nothing for inflation.

If the state funded day care and indoctrination system, uh I mean, public school started at 9AM, many people would be late for work.
In my area, the kids are picked up at 6:15 AM.

Then if high schools started an hour earlier to support spring sports in daylight... Those kids are on buses at 515... Yeah that'll work...

So you must mean do away with time zones so 7am is 7am everywhere ;).
I think It's 5 O'clock somewhere works better for most.
What clocks?! Heh!
I found something new for me to listen and one song to my “good car/truck songs” list ?
