Seems one of the big holdups is that politicians can't decide if standard time or daylight savings time is better so they just keep doing nothing about it.

What you're referring to would be one time zone for all. Going with one time zone based off of UTC would work and has been proposed before. They should leave it on standard time. There's to much business from coast to coast now especially with many now working from home. The 3 hour time difference creates a lot of headaches when someone in NY needs to get ahold of someone in LA at 8am EST and that business isn't open yet. And vise versa when someone in LA needs to get ahold of someone in NY at 3pm PST and that business is closed.
I know it was for me when I first moved out here and I had my builders still calling me at 7am EST and it was only 4am here. That along with a few other things is what made me sell my business a few years earlier than I intended to. I could've made it work but it wasn't worth the effort for me anymore and I just wanted out.
So you must mean do away with time zones so 7am is 7am everywhereThey should leave it on standard time. There's to much business from coast to coast now especially with many now working from home. That's why I said leave it at standard time. At least a 2 hr (coast to coast) is manageable but 3 hrs is a PITA. A universal time zone would be even better but if these morons in Congress can't agree on getting this done we'd be dead before we ever see a universal one. What you're referring to would be one time zone for all. Standard time is the winter fall back hours. Daylight savings time is during the summer. I'm in central standard time (CST) and will be going to central daylight savings time (CDT). Just pick one and stick to it. No more clock changing.
Even if they ever do get rid of time change there with still be four times zones in USA. Eastern, central, mountain and western will stay in place and the coasts would still be four hours different. Only way to get rid of that is to go with the single time zone for all and that won't happen. That's why I said leave it at standard time. Exactly!I was never really affected by the changing of the clocks, I might go as far as to say I don't mind the change.
But, if it was up to me, I prefer later sunset times in the summer...

My Son's wife is Filipino, the food is awesome! worth waiting for, and man do they pile it on!Honestly if your inviting Filipinos for dinner at 6, you tell them 5. ?
But that has nothing to do with the change of the clocks. There will always be a 3 hour difference between east and west coastThey should leave it on standard time. There will always be sun in the eyes, it will just change times, with or without DSTI hate it for commuting to work. Come Fall time, I see so many people dealing with sun in their eyes, slow downs, accidents...then the sun is no longer in the position to cause issues. But the the clocks change and I have to deal with it again.
And the Spring comes and I have to deal with it all over again.
8 hours between Zulu and me (and you)We should just go with Zulu time and be done with it.
Except for AZBut that has nothing to do with the change of the clocks. There will always be a 3 hour difference between east and west coast
Hey, we all know its 3AM Zulu8 hours between Zulu and me (and you)

Who cares about one individual state that doesn;t participate? Whether you have DST or the whole USA on one time, you won't have the east coast waking up and working to accomidate the west coast and vise a versa.Except for AZ
