There will always be sun in the eyes, it will just change times, with or without DST
Right, but with the time changes It happens TWICE in the fall and TWICE in the spring.

Seems one of the big holdups is that politicians can't decide if standard time or daylight savings time is better so they just keep doing nothing about it.

The pisser of this whole thing (IMO) is exactly that "they just keep doing nothing about it"
I dont know anyone who wants this but they continue to do nothing.

The daylight doesnt change at all, if 1% wants to run with it then change "your life" to accommodate the change.

It seems so many people have to look at the clock for everything.
changing every year X2 is just stupid (again IMO)

LEAVE THE TIME THE F*&k alone please

rant over

But that has nothing to do with the change of the clocks. There will always be a 3 hour difference between east and west coast
I was thinking here in AZ which is MST. If you leave it there it would've been 2 hours to east and 1 hour to central. Have the west join mountain time. lol

Its a whatever for me... Intellectually am an advocate for using just your normal timezones OR using GMT... A ton of people think our normal time would be best as standard time but probably wouldn't like sunrise after 8 am in the winter... Most folks simply like what makes them feel best... not changing their days to match the sun. It's a trick of psychology to think you have more sunlight by changing your solar reference. Having more usage of sunlight does that so they don't change their alarm clock for an hour earlier or later based on what suits them... All it is about to me is keeping standard work hours and maximizing sunlight ... Comes about for those who have work schedules and fixed hours for opening or closing businesses... If changing a clock twice a year let's those families enjoy an hour of sunlight then kids can play ball till 830p in June. I can adjust my clocks and just adjust my own schedules... Whatever.

Funny because the last thing we want out here is another hour of sunlight in the summer. Before June 21st (longest day) it doesn't get dark here until around 8:45 pm which is enough for me. When it's 110+ I'd rather it get darker earlier but it is what it is.

Changing the clocks never effected me when I was back east like some say it does to them. For me now, it's a pain making phone calls to friends & family with a 3 hour difference. At 6:00 pm here we're eating dinner so by the time I'm done they're either in, or getting ready for bed.

An argument I hear for keeping DST that it keeps 'the kids' more or less in daylight while they walk to/wait for the school bus in the morning all year, instead of just the summer. Pretty good idea, especially in rural areas. If I had a kid I know it'd make me feel better.

We got off that wagon a few years ago. I don't even change the clocks any longer. We decided to schedule our sleep patterns to suit both and then don't worry about it.

Kids are grown, and we work from home.
I do the same and since retired do not change one clock (doesn't change time zones electronically) in the house that I sleep by. Helps to keep my body clock in sync.

Hi Dave,

When you own as many clocks as I do...over 200 not counting appliances and clock radios etc... The time change becomes a real burden. In Michigan, I only kept about 35 clocks running and still it was a pain but also a labor of love....

Heck I would've moved just so I didn't have to change them all! Plus I'm a light sleeper and I'd never be able to sleep with all that noise. lol ?
