Cross traffic and blind spot system faults

2019 Ford Ranger XLT
2019 Ranger with 66,000 miles on it. Getting error messages "Blind Spot System Fault" and "Cross Traffic System Fault." Indicator lamp in left mirror is always on. Tried disconnecting battery - didn't help. Ran Forscan and came up with the following codes:

SODL Code: U2100 - Side obstacle detection control module - left

FCIM Code B113C - Additional fault system :)11) - Circuit short to ground. Front controls interface module

IPC Code Uof33 - Invalid data received from side obstacle detection control module 'A'. Module: instrument panel control module

So, can someone help me decipher these DTCs to help diagnose the problem? Thanks.

Remove your left taillight and check for water in the lens or corrosion on the taillight connectors or in the BLISS module (mounted on the back side of the taillight lens).

I concur with Rangerbill, the Left Taillamp assembly is most likely the cause, and its shorting out
Note: the B113C-11 is specific to the Hazzard Switch circuit (short to Grd) I suspect its tied into the BLIS module as one of the inputs for BLIS is the (Turn Signal - On Status)

Took it off, took it apart, no water. Removed module, checked connections for corrosion. No sign of physical damage.

A year ago I was hit by a reckless driver and the left taillight assembly was replaced. It has worked fine up until now.

Is there any damage to the wiring harness to the BLISS module?

You could temporarily switch the left and right BLISS modules and see if the DTC codes change to the right BLISS module. I believe that this is a valid test to see if the BLISS module is the culprit.

Was it replaced with a OE part or aftermarket. If after market (china) might consider replacing the module. But you would have to make sure the wiring is intact from whatever module controls the BLISS system to the taillight.

You might try a SODL (Self Test) Reset or swap the module from Left to Right, they are the same part number but are programmed (side) specific, so you will have to perform a (PMI) which is basically loading the (As-Built) data to the module, which can be done with Forscan.
Must be done for each module when it is installed in a (NEW) position, so if you do it and swap them back - it must be done again.

Other than the 2 above, its down to wiring checks.

You may also try - Pull and Inspect and Reseat these 2 connectors
I highly suspect this connector C4483 or the module itself (if the taillamp assembly has no moisture)

C4483 (LH Side)
This feeds the main harness (where there is a splice) that feeds Left & Right sides (BLIS Power)
with it only being the SODL (Left) this may be where the bad connection is located. (corroded)

Pins 1, 11, 12 , 14 & 15 are for BLIS

UPDATE - Swapped the taillight modules left to right and now the right mirror indicator is on instead of the left. Looks like the left taillight monitor is the culprit. Now, to find a reasonably priced alternative.

Thanks for the info. Swapping them left to right changed the mirror with the indicator from left to right so I guess that's the module. Can you explain more how to do the PMI. I have Forscan.
