I remember those days, GA $7 tixs. I saw him in an interview, and he admitted the early 80's was some of his worst music. I loved it, but after the interview I could see his point. I still like it though. It's amazing (see what I did there) he's still alive from the amount of drugs he's done in the past. Read an article where he said at his lowest point he moved to an apartment in the worst area of Boston so he could just walk out his door and get his drugs.
I've seen them about a dozen times back in the day. Being from MA they always played in our area every year and sometimes more. The one show I'll always remember was back in '83 (might have been '84) where they were predicting a snowstorm but it was just lightly snowing before the show. By the end they announced it was so bad outside they were letting people sleep over inside the civic center. Aerosmith stayed on stage and played another hour and we actually decided to drive home after the show. It was an all out blizzard and we were young and dumb but luckily made it home. Those were the days where they wouldn't cancel an event (or school) when there was just a dusting on the ground. Oh, and tickets were only $8-$10!
Went to a Sox game, got there early and did some walking to different bars around. Wandered into Mama Kin, still have the matchbook with the name. What a hole in the wall bar...
