Console safe

I was going to buy one with my truck and then the same maker came up with a rear safe that fills the rear passenger side cu by hole under the seat so my salesman ordered it for me at the dealer cost (seeing how much money I've spent there over the years). As soon as it comes in I will post some before and after pictures

Installed my console vault today. Took all of 10 minutes. Thing seems pretty solid, someone would def have to tear everything apart to get in it.

seems the pistol would be in your way when getting in and out of the truck. Also, not sure where you put it when you are out of the truck.

I don’t think the pistol needs to be quite so easily accessible while driving. Just saying.

I've seen those before but like you said I think it would be in the way. I'm always carrying (on the hip) anyways but sometimes when I have on gym shorts I have a Remora holster that fits great either in the drink holder or in between the seat and the center console. They're textured and have a good tac to them, it works good for this occasion with my Sig 938. I got a few different size ones several years ago when they were $20.

Thanks guys -- I carry in the small of my back so I will just take the pistol out of my holster and keep it in the door panel for now. I have an 'in barrel' holster inside my F150's center console and love it. I wanted to do the same in the Ranger, but cannot because the console is not double walled. Screws would just go through the plastic. I will continue to hunt for alternatives, but appreciate your feedback -- saved me some money and headache!

I'm installing console vault this weekend so if I need to leave my pistol in the truck because I cannot carry where I'm going (courthouse/federal building/etc.)
I have a fairly secure place to store it.
I carry right side small of back and normally do not take my weapon out of the holster when driving so I have no use for magnets and other in cab pistol holders.

The problem I have with this is that the console is already tiny...this feels like putting a small box inside a small box...the same problem I have with rear under seat lock boxes...same as slide out storage for the bed...precious space being eaten up by the container...just my opinion...
