Quick question. Someone posted awhile ago how to tap and/or remove a pin with the waterproof blue stuff it in. I searched and cannot find it. Can someone enlighten me how to tap a pin like that? Thanks....

I also need a license plate lamp plug. I accidentally wounded a wire while cutting a tie wrap. So I either have to re-tap it or just replace it. Can't find a part number for it in any of the parts suppliers...

You talking about the plug on the 12V bed outlet here where some have tapped in for BED LEDs?

No, but that does help.... gave me some ideas for other stuff. Many thanks.,..
What I need is a new license plate lamp socket unless I can get the wiring out in the same fashion of that blue comes out as in that thread you provided. If I can get the socket apart, I can re-solder new leads. As it stands, the cut was real close to the connector. I either have to just cut it off and replace or try to solder a pigtail to it. Prob be easier if I can replace it. Can't find a part number though.

The weather seal on the connector or blue stuff if you will is part of the wiring harness. If you de pin the connector it will pullout with the wire.
everything you need is available at Ford. the connector, the pins, with a small length of wire WITH the wire seal. (blue stuff)
But, you have to purchase separately. Then you can splice and solder & shrink wrap the repair.
A parts counterman will help you with all the part numbers you need.

Much appreciated....
Afraid to ask what they'd charge for one. They wanted $6 for one plastic retaining screw. The part number just for -it- is buried deep someplace in hell. Otherwise, I'd order one online. I will try repair it.. Thanks for the heads up...
