Has any body had their collision warning pop up for no reason? While driving yesterday mine came on and there was nothing around me.

I've had it happen when it's covered but dirt/mud/ice/snow etc. It also happens on an incline, like when I back out of my inclined driveway, the rear sensors are sort of point at the ground and they will alert at certain angles.

some have had erroneous activation's.

mine i can activate just by driving style. it seems to love right turning vehicles in front of you.
Or left turning vehicles, for me at least. Turning vehicles have been the only time mine has ever gone off. The camera doesn't see the turn signal or that it will be turning soon, or at least before I get there and freaks out. Only maybe 5 times so far though so I'm not worried about it.

The sensors don't "See" anything like a turn signal. All they do is sense an object close to your vehicle as you approach and depending on speed differential calculates if you are approaching too rapidly and getting too close to it.. Vehicles that are turning as you approach can set it off as the object is still seen as being in front of you (although to the side) and respond as if you are going to hit it and alerts you. Good thing it doesn't actually go into braking mode at those times!

I agree. The few I have seen with my Ranger have usually been a right turner in front of me. None of them seemed (to me) close enough to have warranted the warning. I wonder if there is a way to adjust the range of activating the warning.

Yeah, exactly. That's really the only reason mine goes off. I know better because I can see the flashing turn signal, it can't so it activates. I don't fault it for that, and as I said most of the time this type of instance doesn't occur, so I rarely have it go off and I've never had it activate the brakes on me. In the end, I'm glad the system exists and I won't buy another car without something like it.

You can change the sensitivity. Maybe the lowest setting will search for hazards less aggressively and not find those that are right on the edge.
