It’s still somewhat early, but thought it would be good to collect what has changed.

  • Ranger logos removed from 2020 front seats
  • Center console pencil tray removed in 2020’s
  • Passenger floor mat 2 snaps removed from 2020 (This one has me waiting for Husky and Weathertech to make 2020 versions or at least provide the snaps)
  • 4 cargo hooks vs 6 on 2019 (through 7/19 anyway)
  • 2020 Rear seat crew headrests do not fold
  • FX2 option added
  • Color changes: Dropped Ingot Silver and Hot Pepper Red; added Race Red, Iconic Silver, and Rapid Red Metallic
Was there two map pockets on the 19’s front seats? I do have have two on ours.

Any other changes found?

The center console storage compartment no longer includes the small pencil tray.

Interesting that of all the saving, map pocket on both seats on 20’s (Lariat’s for certain).

Some of these changes make me wonder why they would do it. Removing the floor snaps? Removing the folding headrests? It's like they are just removing useful features.

The Ford bean counters reign supreme again!

Indeed, haven't certain Lariat owners noticed the addition of "worn-in" look of the front seat lower cushion upholstery? Bless Ford's heart for this added feature...

Fortunately ours are in good nick. Maybe they were careful knowing my uncle was a robotic engineer at Ford Electronics turned Visteon and were super careful making sure they were good.

My front seat covers will be replaced soon through Ford's Custome Care. Hopefully they will be better and the dealer can install them correctly. I hope Ford is working with the supplier to correct this issue. I asked Ford's Customer Care if I could have the 2019 covers with the Ranger logo installed instead of the 2020 seat covers and was told that cannot happen.

Maybe Ford is trying to cover the cost of a new 1 piece drive shaft...

Seems like all bad news, there's got to be some good in there we haven't heard about.

It's weird. I get the low speed acceleration vibration most of the time and then every once in awhile I don't have it. I wonder why it disappears at times if it is the driveshaft. I hope you are correct on the 1 piece drive shaft. We will see.

In hindsight, I wish I had bought a 2019 at the end of the year instead of ordering my 2020. I could have saved some big bucks and had more bells and whistles.

Hearing all of this makes me glad I pulled the trigger in 2019 instead of waiting! There does not seem to be a single improvement, unless one has a favorite color that is newly available! Does this mean that they are saving all the cool stuff for the next generation?

You get a map pocket on the back of your driver side seat on the 2020.
